Embracing the Absurd

turtleneck: H&M, vest: Macy's, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, boots: Steve Madden, hat:  H&M
So, let's just get this outta the way first. Yes, the fuzzy thing on my head is a (new) hat.  No, I am not wearing it ironically.  Therefore, I am not a hipster, just an adorable 20-something with a warm head.  Thank you.  Moving on...

Yay, Industry Night!  Which was true to it's name bringing in mostly other performers around town and upping the laughter level to quite distracting (in a good way).  Love me some Kate!  That girl has the best laugh ever and it makes me happier than I can say that she was able to make it to the show last night (and that she enjoyed it!  FTW!)

Also, speaking of totes random:  I am not the only one who has dropped my cell phone in a toilet.  A new study shows 1-in-5 (ONE IN FIVE) young people have dropped a phone in a toilet!  It's not just me (MOM)!  Woohoo!  Also, goes on to say a lot of what I have been thinking about concerning addiction to smart phones (I am trying to ween myself out of mine and losing it for 3 weeks DEFINITELY helped).

Oh yeah, and PS for those who didn't hear LAURENCE FOUND MY PHONE!  It was sitting on a black garbage bag underneath where we hang up our costumes in the greenroom blending in and (of course) dead, but had it not been dead we probably would have found it right away (NEVER not plugging my phone in ever again!).  I know exactly what happened: I was playing with it and had to make a quick change during tech, brought it into the dressing room with me, set it on the garbage bag to get into costume then went onstage, finished the show, got notes and when I came back into the greenroom had completely forgotten about it... Laurence found it Fri night and it has been a glorious reunion ever since!  BUT this time I will not become addicted to it.  I swear.  (also pretty sure this makes Gina mytouch: 1; Lindy mytouch: 3--I mean, if we were keeping track...)

I'm Goin' to Check on my Deviled Eggs...

tank: Fossil, sweater: Cardigan NYC, jeans: BDG for Urban, wedges: Cooperative for Urban
Well, today is supposed to be the last Indian summer before the deluge and the expected "wettest winter on record" hits the northwest... boo!  Back to boots, hats, raincoats and umbrellas--typical PNW fall/winter...  I def need to invest in some new rain boots (my current ones have holes in them--pointless?  Exactly) and I REALLY want a pair of Hunter Rain Boots in 'new green', but I hate that they are so expensive!  Too bad it's the wrong season for a rain boot sale...

Yes, I heart green.  It is, in fact, my favorite color, but surprisingly I really don't wear it all that often.  At least not kelly & hunter green (which are my preferred shades).  I own a lot of teal, some olive (I'd like more), but not too much kelly & hunter.  Or army, which is HUGE this season. Yes, it's picky, but I like my shades and as long as I stay away from lime or neon I love all variations of green (there's also mint, seafoam, and a whole lot more)!

Anyways... after that segue, brought to you by the number two and the color green (but what shde?!), I'll get back to talking about the celly: still missing.  The end.  Annex is gonna do a big clean before opening tomorrow(!) night and I'm hoping it will turn up then, but I have plans to go after work and see if t-mobile can activate a new sim card for me that I can put in an old cell, so I'm not completely cell-less... meh... keeping hope alive, but it's slowly fading...

Start Wearing Purple (Wearing Purple)

top: H&M, trousers: Eight Sixty from Nordstrom, heels: H&M, accessories: long black beaded necklace, purple bracelets
No luck with the celly yet... I KNOW it is in that room and if it wasn't effing DEAD I could call it and have it back no problem... Unfortunately, it's probably fallen into a nook or crevice and is either gone forever, gonna be found at the end of the run or found after we close.  After work today I am going to T-Mobile to have them hook up another sim card so I can at least HAVE a cell phone, though not one nearly as cool or versatile as the awesomeness that was IS my mytouch... Come back, little mytouch!

Blearg... I wish this stupid cell phone debacle wasn't coloring all of my run thrus, but it is... I know it's not stolen (or if it is that they haven't plugged it in yet) because there haven't been any calls since the night I lost it, but STILL!  It's almost more frustrating that it's somewhere in that room and we still cannot find the stupid thing... Gah!  I never lose things either... SO annoying!

But generally, each run is getting better.  Tighter.  I think we will be ready for an audience for sure by Friday.  I kinda can't wait.  I've gotten so used to the show that I can't even tell what's funny anymore!  I think we need an audience to help us decipher that again... PS COME SEE IT!  It's gonna be good.  Funny, irreverent and totally over-the-top.  As our director explained during notes last night, "every scene has heightened stakes" and it's SOOOO TRUE!  So ridic!  LOVING THIS!

Plus, Gogol Bordello!
