Had today off and I'm getting ready now to head out to our Burien show and then maybe out for a bit before I get ready to open tomorrow for a little 5 hour shifty and then out to Magnuson to catch Balagan's summer show and then over to Luther Burbank for Mackers.

Also, since Jenn had to be back for work at 8am this morning, we didn't do the normal passout somewhere in Dani's parent's house and then get up and grab coffee and drive home in the morning tradition, but rather came home late last night. Although I totes fell asleep in the car, it was real nice to be sleeping in my own bed.
Today, Justine and I are gonna head out to brunch in a bit and then do some last minute shopping for things for the show (her: better shoes, me: more hairspray, both: SPANX). So needed these four days off to bond, relax and just kinda breathe a bit before we head straight into tech (tonight!) and work our asses off until opening! Yipes!

The seestor might be coming tonight and I know Carolyn is so YAY! I know peoples! Steph and Jennifer were there last night and it was nice to get positive feed back from both of them about the progression of the show. I will be interested to see what Mom & Lindy think when (if?) they come again. It's definitely grown and changed and I am really having a blast onstage right now (well, not RIGHT now, but you know, this time in this show).
My auditions are blowing up right now. I have two on Mon, one on Tues and one on Wed. Then SCT generals a week from Mon and the 5th & Village have theirs at the end of the month. Hello, general season, nice to see you. These are kinda my last ditch effort to see what I am doing for the summer and when I might be heading east... We shall see...

Come on Out!

Tonight I have tickets to the ECS show "No Snowflake in an Avalanche", tomorrow I have tix for "Duel of the LInguist Mages" at Annex and Sunday I got comps to Shakes' "Chamber Cymbeline". w00t!
The weird thing about the weekend is that it's not really my weekend anymore. Friday night isn't really a Friday night (it's a Wed? I dunno since I only have one day off a week anyway). It's weird right now...

Plus, I made some KICK ASS chicken soup last night. Chicken broth, veggies that needed to be eaten (peppers, spinach, onion), lotsa spices and rice. Soooo yummy. 10 points, Gina. And I'm gonna be able to eat its leftovers for at least the rest of the week. Of course, downside to living with a vegetarian is that I can make something amazing and awesome like this soup and I cannot share... Oh wells...
Also, I feel remiss that I have not given credit to my roommate's Xmas gift for helping me take the last few days pictures. She got me a tripod. Yup, that's right. No more art installation of Harry Potter books serving as my photo area. I now have a genuine camera area! Thanks, roomie. It's pretty damn awesome!
No plans tonight apart from kitteh time and eating more of my awesome soup. And speaking of kittehs, I haven't updated you all on kitteh watch (2010? 2011?) in a while. So, somehow the rabbit managed to jump on the TOP shelf in my closet (knocking all the clothes off, naturally) last night. No idea how she got up there, but came into my room and heard a "mew" coming from somewhere other than under the bed and I peeked in the closet and there she was sitting on top of the lone sweatshirt she had not knocked over in her effort. Mostly, I was a amused. And impressed. They seem to be getting on better and better (YAY!), so I have high hopes for sharing a bed with both of them one night! Rock it.
...2 days...

It's a New Year

New Year's Eve was fun! The two girls who were Playboy Bunnies on the second night of the first Mad Men party were the go-go dancers on NYE so I actually knew people too! That was an unexpected and exciting. Also because they are both awesome. So, I made some money (plus a tip--w00t!) and hungout with fun people and got to be Joan again. Awesome!
Both New Year's Day and yesterday (day after New Year's Day?) I gloriously did very little. Went over to the mama's and had black eyed peas and cornbread (for good luck) and hung out and watched movies and picked up my new Bose ipod/computer speakers (which are AMAZING! Seriously! They make movies sound incredible) and yesterday I legit did nothing all day. Hungout with the cat(z) and watched (a ridic amount of) movies. Lazy vacation FTW!
I have to admit part of me is incredibly happy to be back at work and in the general swing of things, but the other part wants to still be home in my comfy warm bed... I only have 2 more weeks, though, so... Can't REALLY complain (and only 2 more days before I start training...yesh...)

Hung out with the mama and seestor today got breakkie at Portage Bay Cafe near me (well, by the time we actually ate, it was more like lunch, but we ordered breakkie foodz, so...) and then picked up a new dvd/blu ray player for the mama for her new TV and watched a movie together. But now, relaxing. Enjoying sitting at home for a bit before I have to shower and get ready to go be Joan tonight. Should be funtimes!

World Weary
Last night was the master class and seriously, I should have picked a different song... Totes forgot how high "Stranger" is and tried to belt it and then overcompensated by flailing around... blearg. I should have sang "Man"... Oh wells. She def helped me. Mostly, to remember to do my homework, which I often ignore after I have a song and a cut I like, and that singing a whole song every once in a while helps give the cut its full meaning. Should give me things to work on once I get back with Scott and also once I start dissecting my SUPER-story telling song in Threepenny. I just should have been more prepared.
I totally forgot to talk about how utterly brilliant The King's Speech was, PS. Lindy and I saw it on Sun and seriously it was GOOOD. Colin Firth is completely heartbreaking and Geoffry Rush is brillz as always, but I was most impressed by Helena Bonham-Carter. She was so understated and devoted to her husband overcoming his speech impediment and gaining confidence, not so he could become King, but so that he could be the man she knew he was. Gorgeous. Firth should totes take home the Oscar for this performance (better than A Single Man, although I hearted that movie too) and I hope that she will as well.
Cannot wait to see True Grit tomorrow with Dani. I also need to fit in Rabbit Hole and I'd love to see The Fighter, Blue Valentine and 127 Hours too... Damn you, Oscar season! Too many good movies to catch and not enough time to do it...
I am working though lunch today so that I can pop by home and pick up my package from the deli next door (oh yes, the ENTIRE series of The Wire--OBSESSED!), put the kittehs back in their separate rooms (Tybs REFUSED to stay in my room this morning), change and grab my yoga stuff before heading downtown. Then to my mama's for dinner (extra foodz--YES!).
I learned an important thing about the kittehs last night (again when Tybs refused to be confined to my room when I had to leave for the master class), I think that while he is territorial it is not about space in the apartment, it is about ME. They were totally fine when it was the two of them. I came home and they were both out wandering around, but the second I was there, Tybs started getting aggressive when I paid Frannie any attention... poor girl. I need my roomie to give her some luvin'! Roomie, come home! Let Fran sleep with you! She needs nighttime pets and my kitteh won't share me!

Also, the pic on the left? Courtesy of taking pictures while in the middle of a conversation with the roomie (-geist no longer!). Had to include it because it's like a virtual cameo... You know it, rooms!
Hitting up yoga tonight then gonna get back to those Christmas cd's. I think I'm gonna tackle them a different way because my usual method is taking too long. Would be perfect if I had until the 25th, but since I do not... I need to speed up this process... Tomorrow, the seestor and I are gonna do some xmas shopping post-work. Hopefully finding some things for this weekend...

Yay, Industry Night! Which was true to it's name bringing in mostly other performers around town and upping the laughter level to quite distracting (in a good way). Love me some Kate! That girl has the best laugh ever and it makes me happier than I can say that she was able to make it to the show last night (and that she enjoyed it! FTW!)
Also, speaking of totes random: I am not the only one who has dropped my cell phone in a toilet. A new study shows 1-in-5 (ONE IN FIVE) young people have dropped a phone in a toilet! It's not just me (MOM)! Woohoo! Also, goes on to say a lot of what I have been thinking about concerning addiction to smart phones (I am trying to ween myself out of mine and losing it for 3 weeks DEFINITELY helped).
Oh yeah, and PS for those who didn't hear LAURENCE FOUND MY PHONE! It was sitting on a black garbage bag underneath where we hang up our costumes in the greenroom blending in and (of course) dead, but had it not been dead we probably would have found it right away (NEVER not plugging my phone in ever again!). I know exactly what happened: I was playing with it and had to make a quick change during tech, brought it into the dressing room with me, set it on the garbage bag to get into costume then went onstage, finished the show, got notes and when I came back into the greenroom had completely forgotten about it... Laurence found it Fri night and it has been a glorious reunion ever since! BUT this time I will not become addicted to it. I swear. (also pretty sure this makes Gina mytouch: 1; Lindy mytouch: 3--I mean, if we were keeping track...)

Seriously, could have used another day off... This weekend was crazypants and I am still exhausted. Although sushi last night with the mama & seestor was awesome! New sushi place FTW! Plus I was able to get them to stop by & let me pick up some kitteh foodz & litter on the way home! Yay for car!
Also, supes excited about doing nothing tomorrow after work. Yoga be damned! I need another day of rest! And I get a massage on Wed--thank GOD! Good things are happening.
Also, send me good vibes because I got my Threepenny schedule and will be talking to my boss about it probably after lunch...

I also was able to stop by the grocery store on my way home and you know how sometimes everything you want or need to get is on sale? Yup, totes one of those days and they are the best!
I'm not even bummed about going to work tomorrow because I get to go to the Gregory Awards tomorrow night and get all dressed up! And then? No more plans until Thurs night pick up rehearsal since we have all these cuts and stuff from Rachel trying to clean up the first act.

Another Opening, Another Show
![]() |

Supes excited to get an audience. Last night's run was a little lackluster (not MY performance, but other people's for sure) and I think it is because we need an audience there. All I want is to bust it out and BLOOM in front of some opening night peeps, party it up in celebration and then repeat it all for my mama & her friends and Dani tomorrow nite! Opening weekend jitters!
I am continuing the tradition of dressing up for opening night (one that I really love and wish everyone would embrace)! Rock it, MCE-ers! Here we go (for realzies)!!!!!

Rehearsal last night was so wonderful that I literally cannot wait until I get to see more of this show. The scenes I'm not in, the thing as a whole... Gah! It will totally be a great show. Excitement!
Six whole days away from responsibility, here I come!

Total Eclipse
Smack dab in the middle of a boring Monday thinking about how I really only have this week and next week before I get to enjoy Labor Day weekend and then have a 1-day work week(!) before heading out to Walla Walla for the wine tasting goodness that will be our 3 girls vacation... Oh, sweet, sweet vacation! How I long for you!
This week seems like it's going to be less manic than last week was (w00t!) and I am a little sad about that, but mostly excited to enjoy 6 more days off before I start my new show! I might even get to go to yoga tomorrow (what?) and that makes me happy pants! And I have plans to see two shows this week/end! Theatre in all my free time!
Also, big HUGE congrats goes out to my mama for getting a new job! I am SO proud of her and can't wait to take her out to dinner (Thurs? 8PM? Piatti's? Does that work, ladies?) to celebrate her AWESOMENESS! I love you, mamacita!
Today, I literally have plans to head home post-work and immediately get into my pajamas to relax and I am super excited about that! I might (BIG might) do some laundry too, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.
I am so glad, though, that I have a full entryway hallway! Getting all of that goodwill crap outta there makes it look HUGE. Most of it had been sitting there since we moved in (so, almost 4 months? YEESH!), so it makes a big difference to have that all cleaned up and outta there.
Today is one of the last nice days of the summer, according to the weather people, so I will be enjoying one of my last lunches outside... And I am wearing my grey j brand skinnies from Nordys, black sheer thrifter tee and H&M sparkly bolero with my new Steve Madden gladiators from the Rack. All black or dark grey--attempts to soak up as much warmth and sun as possible on these last few summer days!

Surprise Surprise!

Oh, today was loverly! Woke up early (seriously, what is WITH that lately, body!), went to yoga this morning, then went to Bed Bath & Beyond and got Jess & me a combo blender/food processor and a compost bin and then relaxed this afternoon. It was glorious! It felt both lazy and like I got things done.
Then, I just got a phone call from Dani asking me if I wanted to go to tonight's Seahawks game with her... um, YES PLEASE! Super excited! I have actually never been to one... w00t! Should be amazing! Even pre-season rocks!
Then later on tonight I will probably be heading to Zandi's bday at a bar and then (possibly, really POSSIBLY) get to Schmorg... But now with the football game... we will see... What a wonderful Saturday! Fun times!
I am wearing my grey Levis skinny jeans, new Steve Madden sandals from the Rack, Kerney #97 Seahawks jersey and black Costco tank.

Think Pink
Oh cloudy Monday, how you make me super-extra tired... At least it's supposed to be warm & sunny for our closing weekend!
I am starting to think about all the things I need to do once this show closes (and the list is growing exponentially). Among the top are finally go and get my massages from the accident and get a haircut. I would also love to paint my nails. :) It's the little things... So much to get done in 13 days...
Plus I am still holding out for a day at Lake Tapps with Dani to just lay out on a floaty or in a boat and relaxxxxxxx... That's all I want. One day. I am also SUPER looking forward to Walla Walla wine trip with my mama & seestor in September (followed by a spa day)! We are gonna have so much fun! GreenStage may have postponed my vacations, but I will fit them in there somehow...
Today, I am wearing my light pink Rubbish tee from Nordys with my bdg skinny jeans and lux vest from UO and Steve Madden black boots. I am also rocking my black beaded necklace and giant black cocktail ring.
Drinks tonight with co-workers? Might happen. Just. Might. Happen
