I love these shoes.
And I really love the story behind these shoes. They're Linea Paolo, whose shoes are so ridiculously comfortable, but just enough out of my price range that I rarely buy them. And they were on sale at the last Nordstrom half yearly sale. I found the right shoe on the rack (for $60!), like you do, but when I asked the salesperson to help me get the match, he couldn't find it! He looked in every department and every section, but it was just gone. I was really bummed.
Then at the cash register where I was buying another pair (heels I never wear, I'm sure), he said that I could order the correct size online and it would be delivered to my door and at the last minute I decided to go for it. I mean, I could always return it to Nordy's, a whole two blocks away from my apartment, if for some reason I decided that the left shoe didn't fit, right? So when they came, like a week later I was so excited and I put them on and loved them.
But it was November or something and in Seattle you don't wear cute flats outside in November unless you are a crazy, so they sat in my closet for a few months. Neglected. Then the first time I wore them (the freakishly warm week in January), they absolutely KILLED my feet. They felt too small and I was kicking myself for not going with a larger size. I was so sad, but I refused to let them win and I kept wearing them just for shorter amounts of time and eventually the tight elastic stretched and now they are practically perfect in every way!
Oh yeah, and the whole reason I bought them in the first place was to replace a pair of cute black flats with white polka dots that I somehow lost back in October. All in all: a success!
Sometimes impulse buys are the BEST!
