There Goes the Neighborhood

dress: vintage, belt: vintage gifted from Nordstrom, tights: American Apparel, heels: DSW, accessories: gifted bejeweled bracelet, Relic watch, gifted mini-heart necklace, long dangly earrings
I wore this to my Chicago and Team of Heroes auditions on Saturday, as well as to the show last night. I went ahead and just hungout all day in this here dress. Thought it was fun times and good for Chicago especially, just wishing that my voice had been a little more on its game. Boo on having no mid-range...

Banner Event

dress: Vintage, shoes: gifted Banana Republic, accessories: pearl necklace, Relic watch, brooch,  pearl drop earrings
Funtimes at the Annex gala last night!  It was fun to see a preview of the 2012 season (TWO musicals!) and to hangout with a bunch of peeps I haven't seen in a while.  Plus, got home suuuuper late post-dance after party at Annex and am super glad I got to sleep in.  Listening to this sad, sad Hawks game right now... blearg.  But still.  Have to leave in 15 min to head to rehearsal.  Lesgo!

Step Out

dress: SUPER old, belt: gifted vintage Nordstrom, sandals: Steve Madden from The Rack, accessories: gifted mini-heart necklace, Relic watch, giant red hoops
Worn out to catch Sound Theatre's Pygmalion.  Super bummed I didn't end up making it up to see the closing of Penguins (too tired), but super enjoyed my friends in Pygmalion!  Glad I was able to make it out.

Better Off

tee: Hollister, tank: Costco, sweater: American Eagle, jeans: BDG from Urban, flats: Sam Edelman from Loehmanns, accessories: vintage necklace, Relic watch, gifted shell bracelet, leaf earrings
Spent most of today making follow up phone calls trying to get more job interviews (no luck yet, but more to make tomorrow) and practicing for my audition tomorrow morning.

Now I am getting ready to go out and meet my Night Zero director for a little character meeting and drinks getting ready for the shoot on May 8th...

Interview with a Barista

blouse: Love Squared from Nordstrom, sweater: Mod Cloth, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, flats: Asos, accessories: Charlotte Russe necklace, gifted shell bracelet, vintage pink earrings
Had my job interview at Uptown this afternoon and it went as well as I could hope for, I think!  The woman who interviewed me said she would let me know by the end of the week whether or not there is a position for me.  I'd love a job, but am a little concerned about both my availability (shops are open until 10pm) and also travel issues (you technically work at all eight locations, including the 2 in West Seattle), but I think I can resolve those and the environment seems really open and supportive! She actually said how happy she was that I have worked in so many different fields and that I had such a great passion in theatre.

I was supposed to grab lunch with the roomie post-interview, but she got the days confused (thought audition today, interview Fri not vice versa), so we just hugged and chatted for a quick minute and then I wandered around handing out my resume in lower QA (hit up four more places!).

Plans for tonight include ballet (say, WHAT?!) and thai food (major pad thai craving).  Ballet because, to be honest, putting on that Jackie O dress a few years after I last wore it, I realized that I no longer have the slim hips and thighs that I did when I was doing ballet all the time.  Not to say I'm not in shape (thanks to yoga!), but I think I need to mix it up a bit.  My upper body is much shaplier from the yoga, but I've lost that definition in my glutes and thighs that I had when I was ballet-ing all the damn time.  New goal: yoga three/four times a week mixed in with ballet once/twice a week.  I'm a little bummed that the teacher I heart so much is on maternity leave (she was sooo pregs when I saw her at FFOK in March), but I think that mixing it up with new teachers is also a good idea.

I plan to be super sore tomorrow (haven't been to ballet in months and months), but I have yoga morning plans and shopping in the afternoon plans (I WILL find some dress options for Pam!) and possibly hitting up a show tomorrow night?

Stepford Wife

dress: Vintage, crinoline: (unpictured) Vintage, belt: thrifted, heels: Banana Republic gifted
This is the dress I bought on Sat!  Super excited to pimp it out with jewelry (and a brooch) and rock it at Jacki's wedding in May!

Please ignore dirty hair/no makeup look I took it this morning before I went to yoga... (figured another pic of me in my yoga gear would be passe).  God, I love vintage clothes that fit me...

On another note, got a call from the 5th about a callback on Friday for a reading and have a job interview at Uptown Expresso early tomorrow afternoon.  Wish me luck on both accounts!  Good day today!

Grandest Lady in the Easter Parade

dress suit: Vintage, belt: Vintage, gloves: Costume, tights: American Apparel, shoes: Cindy from DSW,  hat: Staring at Stars from Urban, accessories: thrifted pearls
Super obsessed with my Easter look!  It was waaaaaaay overdressed, but I did not care!  What is Easter without a kickass hat and costume?  It made me happy.  I felt like I could have fit in at a service from the '60s very easily.  Plus I got a lot of compliments (along with the stares).

Lazy afternoon at la mama's post Easter service/brunch with the fam and it was niiiice. Watching Cleopatra and drifting in and out of sleep in borrowed sweats was exactly what I felt like.

Also, found a beautiful dress for Jacki's wedding at Red Light yesterday!  (Um, an olive green 1950's house dress with crystal flower buttons and a crinoline underneath?  YES PLEASE!)  I cannot wait to post pics!  It is so much fun! God, I heart Red Light.  I have found all of my best vintage dresses there (including the one pictured above!)

Back to the job search tomorrow (I can haz job plz? kthxbye!)

Good yoga today (ran into the St Patty's Day parade on my way home--got confuzzled) and now on my way to Dani's play and then to the seestor's bday party.

Let's go!

Vintage Inspired

blazer: gifted vintage Dior, tee: Kimchi Blue from Urban, skirt: H&M, tights: American Apparel, boots:  Chinese Laundry, accessories: long black beaded necklace, giant flower ring from Nordstrom, black & silver beaded bracelets
With the temperatures heating up outside (OK, in the 50's, but at least it can't snow, right?), I decided to break out a non-coat outfit (hello, blazer serves as a coat/jacket).  Plus I'm heading out to OtB tonight to catch a show with Aine & Jess so I wanted to look cute, but still be comfy (I am a walker after all).  I really love how the blue stripe on my tights matches the blue houndstooth in the blazer!

Last night was deliciously low key and exactly what I needed since plans for tonight will probably end up raucous (judging by the stories Jess has told me about the Poles...yesh).  So yay for seeing old friends!  Yay for seeing fun new theatre! Yay for hanging out with international casts! Yay for...

...1 day...

Practically Perfect in Every Way

outfit: from Arnie's Vintage Costumer, scarf: borrowed from Jess, shoes: Sofft from Nordstrom
Tried on the outfit that Sarah picked out Mary Poppins and it fit perfectly!  So, Jess and I went to Costco where I dropped a ridiculous amount of money on new contacts and glasses... then eating some amazing veggie foodz at Georgetown Liquor Company before heading to the last night's show (which was a little bit... odd.  Although the audience did seem to like it as they gave us a standing o).

Oh, Mary Poppins was fun.  It was a little awkward, but Lily and the rest of the kids really seemed to enjoy it, so I was glad to have been there and made her birthday better!  SO much fun!  Who knew that it could be so fun to pretend to be a Julie Andrews character.  And the only thing the kids said was anachronistic was "Mary Poppins doesn't have red nails" to which Sarah replied (bless her) "She does if she's going to a party!"

Random fun times!

Side Swept

tee: Fluxus from Nordstrom, jeans: bdg for Urban, bolero:  H&M, shoes: vintage (thrifted), accessories: black beaded necklace, ring from Argentina (thanks Dad!)

Friday, at last.  Thank the gods!  Glass Menagerie tonight with Carrie then onto Jake's bday party near my old place in Greenlake.  And tomorrow?  The WORLD (but really, it's just our first stumble through of the show, ya know, no biggie--WAIT!  OUR FIST STUMBLE THRU--HOLY CATNIP, BATMAN!!!!!!)!

My shoes are slowly dying (I heart them--thrifted in college from Red Light, I think) and I have to re-super glue the sole of the left one, but for right now it's double sided tape to the rescue!

I wanna get brunch tomorrow before rehearsal, any takers?  Portage Bay (in SLU) 9 or 930am?  So that I am well-fed and ready to rock the show?  And the M's game after?  Anyone? ...Anyone...?  Bueller?

Also, not so sure how I feel about these side-swept bangs... Thoughts?

True True Blue

My one missing bag (the one with all my soft hats and bras in it) has been found! Thank GOD. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost those...

Houndstooth, Stripes and (faux) Lace--Oh My!

Gifted (thanks Steph!) black Banana Republic heels, blue tights with black faux lace design from Urban, black Isabella Bird shift dress (re-purposed from my high school jazz choir days), H&M striped grey and black turtleneck and Dior electric blue and black houndstooth 80s jacket from my step-mom's closet. Also wearing a thrifted skinny black patent leather belt.

Matt told me I look "business power broad" today. And I'm OK with it! Just having fun mixing and matching!

On the Town

Getting ready to head out to drinks and dinner and then see "On the Town"! So I changed (naturally). I am now rocking my $6 H&M skirt (good purchase methinks!), thrifted jewel tank top, old black tights from my mom, vintage Dior blazer from my step-mom's closet and yellow pumps from DSW.

COVET

Ah, the Hermes Kelly bag... It is an unattainably covetous bag. I mean, if I could afford anything in the world, this girl would be on my arm. Seriously, though, how can you go wrong with a couture French purse named after Grace Kelly? You can't that's the answer.

The sad part is that I can't even afford to RENT one! When renting a bag for a month is almost $2000, you know it's out of your price range, but a girl can dream... Right?
