I am back in the Land of the Living after catching what can only be described as a relative of the plague. It was like all of a sudden Sunday night I was knocked on my ass... No fun at all... Thank god I feel better, but I am still supes bummed I missed out on so much fun times... Stupid getting sick...
Anyway, besides all that I have some fantastic theatre news. I was cast in BOTH of the things that I auditioned for over the weekend (Annex and ECS) and have already talked to my (potential) director at Annex about giving me until next week to audition for Lady M before I give him an answer... I felt terrible doing it, but I would kick myself if I didn't even try for this part. It's such a awesome role in and one I've ALWAYS wanted to play, so I have to at least audition for it. After I find out either way, I will let Dan at Annex know if I can be in his show...
I do, however, have to send Nathaniel an email letting him know that I am already booked for the Fall and I feel really bad about that... That would have been a fun show, but what can I do? I'm already (potentially) over-booked... I LOVE that I am wanted now though. It sorta feels amazing!
ALSO, on top of that I received an email from the 5th Ave yesterday asking me to come in and sing for Ensemble in Oklahoma! It's such good theatre luck! I am a fan! So, thank you Seattle.
Tonight we have a pick-up rehearsal in Lynnwood to start our "far away" weekend of Lynnwood tomorrow, Camp Long on Fri and Burien on Sat (with Sun off--woohoo! I get to see theatre!). I can't wait to jump back in. I just heart this show so much!
Last weekend CHBP was so much fun. Despite the getting sick and not really enjoying Dead Weather, it rocked! Poor Allison Mosshart did look like she took a little TOO much of whatever drug they were partaking in offstage, but she and Jack White still put on one helluva show! Seriously... They know how to ROCK! And the crowd was in the palm of their hand. Wish I had been less sick and more rock... Oh wells...
I also skipped out on the Block Party on Sat night when Blonde Redhead cancelled last minute. I was a little bummed I missed out on !!! who I heard rocked it HARD, but I needed to sit. And eat. And wind down from the insanity that had been my audition/performance heavy morning and afternoon... And so, I went to see Laramie Project at Strawberry Theatre Workshop. And let me just say, good choices. It was amazing! I probably cried (or was on the verge of crying) for about an hour of the 2.5 hour show... Their production was SO well executed. Well acted, well directed... Everything was well-done. **sigh** I want to be part of a production like that. But the thought of doing that show everyday... YIKES. Talk about draining... But brilliant.
Then I hit up Smörgåsbord that night at Balagan. Hung out with some R&J peeps and other Balagan-ers that I haven't seen in forevs. And basically was asked to star in Side Show with a friend of mine at Balagan in the 2011-2012 season! WHAT?! YES PLEASE! Good times... le sigh...
This weekend is another busy theatre weekend: Spelling Bee on Sat late nite (11pm), Lady M audition 1PM Sun, Greetings from Styx 4PM Sun, Yellow Wood 8PM Sun, New Voices 9 8PM Mon! w00t! Seeing so much theatre! And there's still SO MUCH MORE to see. This summer is crazypants...
Today I am wearing my black H&M leggings, mattie m tank dress from Nordys with my Costco tank underneath, bdg black saddle shoes from UO and black Express v-neck cardigan. Also wearing my Aldo pearl, black & gold chain and sparkle necklace.
