Closing Time

tank: Kimchi Blue from Urban, bolero: H&M, trousers: Express, oxfords: Pour La Victoire from ShoeFly, accessories: gold & black tiered necklace from Aldo, Marc Jacobs watch, gifted giant green ring
Well, it's finally coming to an end... my professional debut.  And as if to signal it, this is probably the first time I have woken up without a song from Threepenny stuck in my head since we started rehearsals... My brain knows.

This will end up being another looooong day.  Grabbing breakfast with the fa-zha and seestor this morning before heading to our mat and then pizza at the Millers on the dinner break before the closing performance... and, of course, another glorious night at Solo.  Then, bright and early tomorrow I start the auditioning for the next show.

I have three (3!) auditions Monday (and 1 on Tues!).  Yesh!  That is impressive.  But then again it IS general (and summer show) audition season.  Skipped the TPS auditions this year for the first time since I joined and it was kinda odd.  Def glad I decided against it, but... when that week came around it was interesting not to be part of the nervous horde.

I think I have made (tentative) plans for when I am heading down to Panama to visit Dad & Pam (probs between 3/15-3/29 depending on if Dani & I can get down to HP world or not aka if she can get off work on such short notice...).  Kinda nice to finally have that nailed down.  Everything changed with the 5th & Village announcing their generals at the end of the month.  I had to kinda rush when I could get down to visit. Also, filing for unemployment on Mon.  Done & done.

Lean On Me

tee: Kimchi Blue for Urban, bolero: H&M, jeans: H&M, oxfords: BDG for Urban, accessories: bejeweled bracelet, Aldo gold & diamond necklace
OK, so because everyone seems so interested, I did talk to my boss on Mon about my Threepenny schedule, but he wanted to wait until everyone was in the office to go over it, so hopefully that will happen today.  I will let you know more as I know more...

Also, wow Washington... wow.  Really?  We repealed the candy & soda tax?  We can't add an income tax on our wealthiest citizens?  And we have to go back to 2/3 majority to approve any bumps in taxes (eff you Tim Eyman!)?  DAMMIT!  It's like I feel the opposite of everyone in this stupid state... Blearg.  But I will feel OK about it as long as Murray wins.  Help me, Patty Murray, you're my only hope.

Tonight I have a massage appointment and dear god do I need one... Seriously, my entire left side has seized up.  I cannot wait to have her work this crap outta my body.  Also, since the massage isn't until 645, I might get a pedicure beforehand.  I just feel like Candy would have very bright red toes (to match her fingers) and I haven't had a chance to get one until now, so it's on my list...

Prepster

tank: Costco, jeans: j brand from Nordstrom, blazer: Forever 21, shoes: Pour la Victoire from Shoefly, Accessories: Aldo necklace from LA, bejeweled bracelet, giant black cocktail ring (sad panda), gold swirl earrings from Express
Um, so... a moment of silence for my black cocktail ring... On the way to work this morning it fell out of my pocket along Mercer and was lost forever (unless I somehow find it, but I'm gonna stick with lost forever...for now).  Back to the obscurity from whence it came (found in a bar bathroom, lost on the street)... We had a good few (2?) years together and now... no more. *le sigh*

Dinner with the fah-zha will be cut short tonight because I am called for rehearsal at 930 (BOO!) to work on my monologue... I know I need to work it, but honestly?  ONE DAY'S notice?!  Blearg!  It's fine.  That still gives us about 3 hours together, but I am a little sad panda that that is probably all I'll be able to see of him... Stupid crazy-ass rehearsal schedule and him only knowing a few days ahead of time that he was coming into town!  Bad timing!  Le suck!

But I also get a massage tonight (THANK THE GODS!) and I need it so badly it's just kinda sad.  My left side is completely inept at this point and my neck is killing me!  Hopefully, I will feel rested and rejuvenated after it's done because right now I am just exhausted (after 2 giant cups of coffee)!  This work (extra-hard!) all day and rehearse all night thing is starting to get to me.  AND I just over-scheduled my weekend (as I do), so the relaxing will be minimal I'm sure... Oh wells.  I'll sleep when I'm dead, right? (And I'm good so long as I don't get sickie... No more sick days!)

Bangs now fully cover my eyebrows and are constantly in my field of vision.  Starting to think sweeping them to the side may be best bet.  May experiment tomorrow...

Eye of the Beholder

skirt: H&M, tights: gifted from Urban, boots: Report Signature from Nordstrom, tee: kimchi blue for Urban, sweater: Express, necklace: Aldo from LA
Well, I rocked it at yoga last night.  And it was great.  Just had to inspire myself to get there, I guess (phad thai helped).  Also, weird to take 2 showers in one day... One of those things that makes you go "I feel like I already did this", which of course, you have.  It's just strange.

I couldn't sleep again last night (heart beating outta my chest again--AWESOME).  BOO!  I really hate my insomnia.  I knew I could have taken something, but... I just hate doing that.  Although I'm pretty sure that watching a rousing sports movie right before bed did not help in the sleep department (Invictus--very good!). But still!  After working all day and then having my ass handed to me in yoga?  I totes should be allowed to get a good night's sleep!

No plans again tonight.  I'll probably just hangout at home post-work for a bit and then head up to the Hill for my friend's going away drink at Rosebud later on.  I feel like everyone is taking off and leaving Seattle and... I'm not.  I know it's in the cards, but I just feel like as long as I am consistently working in this city I just don't know if it makes sense to leave...Although those 9 months last year really sucked.  Another bout like that and I might just up and leave... (I mean, I WAS working, just not in full productions.  Staged readings, concerts and workshops do not a show make).  For now, though, I am more than happy here.  I just hate that "here" is the city where I grew up...

Anyways, check out how light/reddish my hair looks?  Crazy!

Back-Back-Back At It

I am back in the Land of the Living after catching what can only be described as a relative of the plague. It was like all of a sudden Sunday night I was knocked on my ass... No fun at all... Thank god I feel better, but I am still supes bummed I missed out on so much fun times... Stupid getting sick...

Anyway, besides all that I have some fantastic theatre news. I was cast in BOTH of the things that I auditioned for over the weekend (Annex and ECS) and have already talked to my (potential) director at Annex about giving me until next week to audition for Lady M before I give him an answer... I felt terrible doing it, but I would kick myself if I didn't even try for this part. It's such a awesome role in and one I've ALWAYS wanted to play, so I have to at least audition for it. After I find out either way, I will let Dan at Annex know if I can be in his show...

I do, however, have to send Nathaniel an email letting him know that I am already booked for the Fall and I feel really bad about that... That would have been a fun show, but what can I do? I'm already (potentially) over-booked... I LOVE that I am wanted now though. It sorta feels amazing!

ALSO, on top of that I received an email from the 5th Ave yesterday asking me to come in and sing for Ensemble in Oklahoma! It's such good theatre luck! I am a fan! So, thank you Seattle.

Tonight we have a pick-up rehearsal in Lynnwood to start our "far away" weekend of Lynnwood tomorrow, Camp Long on Fri and Burien on Sat (with Sun off--woohoo! I get to see theatre!). I can't wait to jump back in. I just heart this show so much!

Last weekend CHBP was so much fun. Despite the getting sick and not really enjoying Dead Weather, it rocked! Poor Allison Mosshart did look like she took a little TOO much of whatever drug they were partaking in offstage, but she and Jack White still put on one helluva show! Seriously... They know how to ROCK! And the crowd was in the palm of their hand. Wish I had been less sick and more rock... Oh wells...

I also skipped out on the Block Party on Sat night when Blonde Redhead cancelled last minute. I was a little bummed I missed out on !!! who I heard rocked it HARD, but I needed to sit. And eat. And wind down from the insanity that had been my audition/performance heavy morning and afternoon... And so, I went to see Laramie Project at Strawberry Theatre Workshop. And let me just say, good choices. It was amazing! I probably cried (or was on the verge of crying) for about an hour of the 2.5 hour show... Their production was SO well executed. Well acted, well directed... Everything was well-done. **sigh** I want to be part of a production like that. But the thought of doing that show everyday... YIKES. Talk about draining... But brilliant.

Then I hit up Smörgåsbord that night at Balagan. Hung out with some R&J peeps and other Balagan-ers that I haven't seen in forevs. And basically was asked to star in Side Show with a friend of mine at Balagan in the 2011-2012 season! WHAT?! YES PLEASE! Good times... le sigh...

This weekend is another busy theatre weekend: Spelling Bee on Sat late nite (11pm), Lady M audition 1PM Sun, Greetings from Styx 4PM Sun, Yellow Wood 8PM Sun, New Voices 9 8PM Mon! w00t! Seeing so much theatre! And there's still SO MUCH MORE to see. This summer is crazypants...

Today I am wearing my black H&M leggings, mattie m tank dress from Nordys with my Costco tank underneath, bdg black saddle shoes from UO and black Express v-neck cardigan. Also wearing my Aldo pearl, black & gold chain and sparkle necklace.

Bling, Sparkle, Shine

Getting ready to kick off this 3-day weekend a little early! Heading outta work in about 15 minutes to shop, head to rehearsal for a run through, then to bed early so I can watch THE WORLD CUP all day tomorrow (7am Germany v Argentina, 1130am Spain v Paraguay--Go Germany! Go Spain!), then BBQ with the fam tomorrow night and heading into the 4th at Dani's parents... Whew! Exhausting and EXCITING! AND THEN, heading into tech and OPENING WEEKEND. It comes fast, it comes furious and it comes fun! Loving life right now!

Today I am wearing my thrifted sheer black tee, teal leopard print tank from Express underneath, jolt black pants, Sperry Top-Siders and black Express v-neck cardi on top. And topping it all off with my Aldo pearl, diamond, black and gold chain BLING necklace.

Accessorize Yourself

The theme for today is accessories: shoes, necklaces, bracelets, earrings. They can jazz up a routine outfit so easily! And I am definitely using them!

I am wearing dark grey pinstripe trousers from Pitaya, silver shimmered grey architectural Cindy heels from DSW and a black ruffled-sleeve Silence + Noise tee from UO with black, gold and diamond Aldo necklace, black and silver beaded bracelet and mirrored earrings.

Tonight I have a much needed haircut and then plans to go to the gym (my new bag is a definite incentive), but I forgot socks... BOO! I might have to buy some (lulu IS right next to Seven...) before the gym-ing ensues. Unfortunately, I am missing yoga, but I figure a nice run and stretch before yoga on Saturday is probably necessary to get me back into the swing of working out. Plus I need to see how long it takes to walk to/from my new apartment.

Last night's pre-birthday birthday dinner was so yummy! It was at Serafina and I LOVE that restaurant so much! Great salad. Great wine. Great ricotta wrapped in eggplant over cappellini pasta. AND the most amazing cheesecake EVER (seriously, ever)! Plus Pam and my Dad gave me some great new Zara clothes and local Panama jewelry. Super excited to wear them!

Plus I am so excited for the long weekend, it is ridiculous. This entire week has felt like a month... Blearg. But it's Thurs, which means I only have a half-day of work before 3 glorious days off!

I'm A Real Boy

Finally feel like a real person again! Success! I have (mostly) conquered the bug of ill. Although I will not jinx it and will super take care of myself this weekend too...

I am excited for this weekend! Not only am I SIFF-ing up a storm (decided on Cyrus, Holy Rollers, Nowhere Boy & I Am Love), but I get tonight and tomorrow during the day off to do other non-movie watching things. Like reorganize my kitchen. And go to yoga. And generally be a normal, non-sick person. Hooray!

Plus the LOST series finale is on Sun! So excited. They have really set it up to be an extravaganza (all 2.5 hours of it) and I get to watch it with all my friendz, so yay! And (I love Dani for this) we are going to play JackFace--bahahahaha! Oh, Jack...

Today, for my re-entry into life I am wearing my j brand grey skinnies, red BP pointy-toed flats, long cream UO tank with black detailing at the top, Express black v-neck cardigan and F21 cropped red swing jacket with my crazy pearl, black chain, gold chain and fake diamond Aldo necklace.

I really love that jacket, but I hate the fact that the lining bleeds. It's not like I paid a lot for it, but it's so cute and I can only wear it with black... boo... Any tips on how to get it to STOP bleeding? I will try anything!

Exciting weekend. Plus Pam is back in town packing up my parents' stuff to move down to Panama, so I'm hoping to get some tables or bookshelves that way (hint, hint)!
