Heading to Next to Normal at the 5th and then over to the Women's History Month Cocktail Party. Super excited for N2N and also to go to the party.  Friends and fun times and all that good stuff.

Also, I have officially planned and booked all my tickets for Harry Potter World and visiting my dad in Panama with Dani! We leave on 3/19 and come home 3/30 (just in time for my Village general)! Yay!  plans!

Well, I have already had two auditions today. One that went very well (for the Women Seeking... show) and one that was absolutely heinous (the Cour d'Alene summer auditions...yesh).  Seriously, my voice is dead from yesterday.  Hoping to be able to rock it tonight for my GreenStage audition... And tomorrow for the Wooden O aud...

Oh man... gearing up for having absolutely nothing at all to do on Wed.

Round the Moon

Heading over to our put-in rehearsal for our walk-on (coming on the Sat 730pm show). We're scheduled for 2 hours, but I highly doubt we will need to be there the whole time (have to be called at 3 and have to be called for at least 2 hours due to IATSE union rules...blearg).  We're just doing 3.1, so there will be lots of fake sign writing and sitting on the floor (she's coming on as a beggar).  Then, if we're done around 4, I think I'll head home for dinner before coming back around 6.

The seestor might be coming tonight and I know Carolyn is so YAY!  I know peoples!  Steph and Jennifer were there last night and it was nice to get positive feed back from both of them about the progression of the show.  I will be interested to see what Mom & Lindy think when (if?) they come again.  It's definitely grown and changed and I am really having a blast onstage right now (well, not RIGHT now, but you know, this time in this show).

My auditions are blowing up right now.  I have two on Mon, one on Tues and one on Wed.  Then SCT generals a week from Mon and the 5th & Village have theirs at the end of the month.  Hello, general season, nice to see you.  These are kinda my last ditch effort to see what I am doing for the summer and when I might be heading east...  We shall see...

Two-A-Day

Heading to our two-show day!  My hairstylist, Zoe, is coming to the 2PM show and Dani & Jenn are coming to the 730, so yay!

Last night's show felt the best it ever has.  It is one of those intangible things that just gels the show, bringing it all together in an indescribable way. And the audience really responded.  Our energy was waaaaay up and the Daryl's accompanist speed really helped drive the whole thing.  The ending has a phenom hit when the rest of it clips along, allowing the audience to lean into the whole show.  Unfortunately, no one I knew was there last night, but I am hoping this is a step-up that only continues in that direction.

Tonight we will definitely going out post-show(s).  I have a feeling we will all need to decompress after our 2-show day...

And tomorrow we have a 2pm matinee and then I book it over to Dani's to catch as much of the Academy Awards as I can. w00t!

Holly Jolly

Tonight officially kicks off the Christmas season (for me, at least) when the mama, seestor and I all head to Hair at the Paramount for our first show of the holiday season!  But, for cereal, if I thought I was tired yesterday?  Oh MAN, I dunno how I'm gonna get through today and the insane weekend coming up... le super boo (said with a silly French accent).

Last night, however, I did a shitload of stuff done!  Bought the dress and necklace for playing Joan next weekend ($30 TOTAL), and got a massage and still made it to OtB (Ok, I was 15 min late, but STILL, I made it)!  It was a success for realzies.  The only thing I didn't have time to do was grab the first season of Mad Men from scarecrow, but I can always do that (in ALL my free time) this weekend, right?  Right...?  Oh god...

Wow!  It's amazing how much better my left side/back feels after yesterday's massage.  It really makes me realize that it is injured, not just sore.  So happy to have another one set up for next Wed!  I will get this all outta my system!  I will!  Take that!

I sorta love it when an outfit works out as well in real like as it does in my head.  Plus I heart wearing two patterns that should (but don't) clash.  Makes me happypants, so thank you mind outfit, for being as awesome in my imagination as you are in real life!

No word yet on the reaction to the Threepenny schedule.  Dunno when I hear (mayhaps never), so I will let you all know when I hear and I have no idea when that will be.  As of now, I am assuming they will be looking to hire a replacement for me and that I will be training him/her to take over for me by mid-January, but that might change... Honestly, at this point, I have no idea.

Another pickup rehearsal tonight and this time we'll be working on eliminating the blackouts at the end of every scene, hopefully tightening up the show even MORE. (Mama--you gotta come see it again, now, it's gonna be completely different!) And this is our one 3-show weekend (if you include our Mon Industry night performance), so that will be fun.  And different, to do it on a Mon, but fun I think.  I also realized that I am totally outta commission for the 11/18 pickup due to the UCLA game and midnight HP7.1 and I just told my SM that... hopefully she understands because seriously?  It's our closing weekend AND I had no idea we were gonna have pickups (remember how excited I was to get back into ballet?  And massages?) until OPENING WEEKEND, so she will just have to DEAL.  So There.

Bright Blue Flutterby

Stupid ankle... Yesterday, I managed to step on a rock and roll my ankle (the left one, naturally--and sidenote: although you will constantly see my shortening words and using little nicknames (ie: "totes", "obvi", "seestor", etc) I WILL NEVER SHORTEN "naturally" to "natch"! Not cool.  Just stupid... OK, rant over), which ya know, no biggie, but since I badly sprained it TWICE in a one month period earlier this year, I think it's still a little bit sensitive.  And with all my walking yesterday and the yoga... it was def sore when I got home last night, but I took some advil & slept with it raised, but even so... still a little throb-y today. BOO!

Also, sorry to call you out roomie, but why did you come home so late?  Dear god!  Both the kitteh (on my bed) and I just about jumped outta our skin.  And RIGHT when I was just about to fall asleep (stupid insomnia)... oh wells... I do it to you enough... I will have to remember to shut my door a little more before I head to sleepytimes...  And come to think of it, it might not even have been that late, just the jarring me outta almost sleep might have made it FEEL that way...

And also, yeah, haven't really been able to sleep the last three or so nights, so I am trying to cut caffeine from my diet after noon.  Yesterday I think I had two cups of coffee, two cups of caffeinated tea and then a 'bucks coffee around 330... whoops!  But I thought with the yoga it would cancel it out (it did not)!  Blearg...

Tonight we start run thrus and get two in before our night off on Fri (when I will be attending In the Heights at the 5th) and our two 10- to12-hour tech days this weekend... YIKES!  PLUS, I somehow need fit some laundrytime in there (I need something for the show)... I REALLY wish I would have had Monday off now... Here we go!

There is nothing quite like a good night's sleep in nice, clean sheets to make me realize I really should do my laundry more often... I now have clean clothes and am so excited to wear some of those items that have been living at the bottom of my laundry basket for the last few months...

We have a dialect workshop tonight (North Carolinian--yeah, it's JUST as hard to place as you think it would be...) and I can't wait to get some more guidance on where I should be heading with this character (linguistically, at least).  I think that working specifically with the voice will definitely help Candy take shape.  Tomorrow, I start actual script work and then Saturday I have four whole hours of rehearsal!  And then hopefully, a little Husky football with Dani!

Quintessentially Seattle

As my co-worker says today I look "totally Seattle, I work in an office and am cute" chic. I really heart today's outfit a lot and kinda feel a little 50's cum 80's in it (Grease-like, as it were)! Just kinda grabbed something that I thought would work for my hectic dayof work, mani/pedi, massage and then dinner with the mama & seestor (OK, well when I put it that way it really doesn't SEEM hectic, but trust me there will be a lot of running around...).

Last night's experiment of yoga and then running to a play worked out better than expected and I got there with plenty of time. And Yankee Tavern was definitely worth the (semi-)rush. The show was as conspiratorial as expected and just as mysterious, too. The cast was really great, all around, but Charles Legget as Ray, the conspiracy theorist constantly conspiritorializing (made THAT word up) to everyone around him, totally stole the show. Selfish, self-aggrandizing and totally caught up in the relatively insane world of his mind. It was a ridiculously strong performance.

There was this great moment early on where Ray is wandering around the tavern talking on his phone on-air on a radio talkshow and as he walks by the lone female character, Janet, he steals the newspaper from her and walks into the bathroom still arguing without even realizing she might have been using it. Talk about quickly establishing character. Toward the end of the show I got a little bit "Uh oh, please don't make this all sappy", but Dietz refrained and the end totally redeemed itself. Catch it's last weekend, if you can!

Today, I am wearing my bdg dark denim skinnies from UO, grey striped Bebe shirt and vintage Nine West grey heels with rabbit fur patch on the bow in front. I also grabbed my Express silver cuff and my grey Fossil boyfriend sweater (it's cold now, so...).

Seriously, LOVE these shoes. They're one of those things that I own and LOVE and never wear enough. They feel like they were made for my feet and they fit me perfectly. The heel is only about 2" too, so they are totally comfy and walkable (although I wore my flip-flops for the walk since I needed them for my pedi anyways...). I always put them on and think "why don't I wear these more often?". Seriously, comfy & cute & chic & vintage? They are rocking! LOVES!

Pride-ful!

For the end of the Pride weekend, I am heading to Zanna Don't with my Touchstone! I am supes excited. Yesterday I literally had rehearsal all day long (noon to 5pm) and then hung out with my sister all night. This morning she even convinced me to get up (relatively) early and go to the grocery store to get supplies for blueberry pancakes and mimosas. But it was yummers, so I was OK with it...

Tonight I am wearing my bebe black liquid leggings, UO black gladiator sandals and olive ruffled Zara tunic. And I'm also throwing my thrifted 3/4 sleeve black cardigan on too...

Birthday Daze...

It's my birthday... And I'll SING if I want to! Totally looking forward to Thursday night's FFOK bday celebration! I think I might sing a little "Middle of the Road"... Or maybe "Call Me"... So many options!

Imogen Heap was ridiculous! She is probably one of the most singularly talented people I have ever seen. At one point she actually improv'd a song for us after getting a key (F#minor) and melody from audience members(!) and it ROCKED! And apparently we can download it for $1 in a few days after she puts it on her website and all proceeds go to a local charity (the P-Patch Project). I mean, how cool is that?! She was so keyed into the audience, too. Apparently before the concert, you could go online and fans each city could vote for the top 12 songs they want her to play! And I have absolutely NO qualms about the choices that our fine city made either! A great smattering of the old (like "Headlock" and "Come Here Boy") and the new ("Bad Body Double", "Tidal" and "Little Bird"). Plus, I guess she is holding this youtube contest in every city for a local band to join her in singing "Earth" that then got to open for her. So that was awesome too! And you can never go wrong with the audience participatory "Just for Now", everyone's favorite tune "Let Go" and closing with the awesomeness that is "Hide and Seek". It was a fantastic concert and SUCH a great kick-off to my birthday week (thanks, seestor)!

Big plans for my birthday night, too: yoga followed by rehearsal--w00t! Haha... Not much I can do there, although I do get to block my first Audrey scene tonight which is a pretty great birthday present!

Liquid Logic

What do you wear when it's pouring outside? Why pants that already look wet, of course!

And today I am doing just that. Wearing my black Bebe liquid leggings, black Naughty Monkey over the knee boots and long sleeve teal boat-neck Micheal Stars tunic both from Nordys and UO black Lux vest with sheer sides with my long black beaded necklace. Fashionable, functional and dry!

Yesterday, I enjoyed not one but TWO good SIFF movies. Not great, but both were totally enjoyable (I seem to only see them if I'm seeing 2 per day). The first was Excited, the Canadian comedy about premature ejaculation. And let me just say, that this movie would have been a bit less awkward had I not seen it alone... I agree with Paul Constant's review in the Stranger: it would have been a stronger movie if they would have focused on the main character coping with his sexual problem and left the random ancillary characters and their problems out of the film. But it was only 85 min long, so really, you can't go wrong.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll I really only saw because I love Andy Serkis and he really rocked the lead character, Ian Dury, the eclectic lead singer of 70's punk band Ian Dury & the Blockheads. The movie was great. It had all these lovely animation-like sequences that were some of the best parts of the movie, but I have to admit, the Essex accent is HARD to understand and it took a good half of the movie before I could understand it without working at it. Plus it had some great random cameos (Mickey from "Doctor Who" & Adelle DeWitt from "Dollhouse"). But it really was all about Andy Serkis to me. I mean, if I didn't know any better I'd believe that he suffered from polio. He plays a mean cripple.

Tonight I do dinner and early birthday presents with Pam and Jacki (and they get to see my new place--yay!) and a haircut tomorrow and Candide at the 5th on Fri with Dani! Busy, but good!

All right after I got back from signing the very last bit of our apartment application. It's now all official and I will hopefully have a place to live for the next year! Excitement!

And, of course, after my post about the nice weather it goes all schizoid on me and my walk from work to the apartment to do all the signing (only 15 minutes!) was all in the rain... Meh, you can't win them all and I really don't mind wearing my sunglasses and my hat as I walk home in the 50 degree sun-rain of Seattle!
