One More Day

dress: new Zara, tights: Spanx from the Rack, boots: Chines Laundry from DSW, accessories: thrifted pearl necklace, relic watch, gifted shell watch, faux-pearl earrings
About to head out to go and do my final general audition for a while.  Warming up and singing in my apartment is not necessarily the best option but that's what they get for renting to an actor--teehee!

Super excited to be done and have nothing at all to do for the next two days before I start the major job-hunt.  Whew!  Needing to just relax and get back into the swing of sleep on the West Coast before I start, that's all that's left.

PS Don't you like my new dress? Kinda obsessed with it!

Back On My Legs

tee: Seattle Shakes Threepenny, sweater: thrifted, skirt: Forever 21, tights: Spanx from the Rack, booties: Chinese Laundry, accessories: Marc Jacobs watch, giant red hoops
Well, managed to throw my perfume bottle on my lip which is now bleeding.  Awesome.  Good start to my first day-off where I am actually getting up and going somewhere.  Sucks.

But seriously, Jess and I are grabbing dinner after I run a few errands and then I am going to have a nice relaxing night at home (quite a change of pace, right? haha). I know I have been super lazy, but I have no complaints.  It was loverly to not have to do anything for three days and we have 6 shows this weekend, so I am gearing up for that insanity.

Off to the Races Again!

tee: Where the Wild Things Are from Urban, tank: Costco, sweater: Pitaya, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, boots: Chinese Laundry, accessories: Marc Jacobs watch
Well, it might be sunny out, but it is COOOOLD.  The low today is supposed to be 17. SEVENTEEN! Ridic!  At least with the sun, there is no chance of snow, but it will def be a cold walk to the show tonight.

Spent the night at la mama's last night to take care of the pupper.  And thank god for Jess giving me a ride there last night cause BRRRRRR! Dislike.  The show went well last night although it was a little bit slow... But such are Thursday nights.  Cold after three whole days off and taking a little bit to get back into it.  Plus in the whore scene I totally swallowed some spittle and had a nice little cough attack at the end of it. Lovely.  Glad that scene became about the random whore who couldn't hold in her cough.  And, of course, it was right before I had to go on for the big Lucy scene... Blearg.

La mama came home around noon today, so we were able to spend some time together before I took off to regroup at home before heading to tonight's show.

It Would All Depend on Me

tee: kimchi blue from Urban, tank: Costco, sweater: Rubbish from Nordstrom, jeans: BDG from Nordstrom, boots: Chinese Laundry
Whew... One last preview tonight before we open!  Yipes!  I cannot believe that this is actually moving this fast...

Gonna run a few errands this morning before I head over to the theatre... Hoping today's errands go better than yesterday.

Coincidentally

tee: Fluxus from Nordstrom, sweater: Express, tank: Costco, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: Chinese Laundry, accessories: long black beaded necklace, bejeweled bracelet, hoop earrings, black jeweled ring
Done with the first of two loooooong tech days. Whew.  I am dead.  Getting ready to start tomorrow (after I make some foodzies) because dear my GOD tech really takes it outta you. 12 hours today, another 12 tomorrow and then a glorious DAY OFF.  And I will be taking it OFF.

I plan to sit in my pj's and do nothing for as long as possible on Monday.  And thank the gods that I get one.

Two-fer

sweatshirt: Lululemon, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, boots: Chinese Laundry
It's another instance of "whoops, I forgot to press post yesterday"  So, here's what I had said:

Oh, holy hell it is early!  But I have to get up and head to my mama's and watch my Hawks kick some BEAR ASS! (At least, I hope because if I woke up this morning for no reason, I'm gonna cry.)

Then tonight I am gonna head over to Dani's to watch the Golden Globes (go King's Speech!), so yay!  Busy Sunday and tomorrow I have the day off and my audition at the 5th tomorrow night before Lindy and I head up to the Hill and catch Blue Valentine.   THEN Tues is the first 3P rehearsal!  w00t! w00t!

Vintage Inspired

blazer: gifted vintage Dior, tee: Kimchi Blue from Urban, skirt: H&M, tights: American Apparel, boots:  Chinese Laundry, accessories: long black beaded necklace, giant flower ring from Nordstrom, black & silver beaded bracelets
With the temperatures heating up outside (OK, in the 50's, but at least it can't snow, right?), I decided to break out a non-coat outfit (hello, blazer serves as a coat/jacket).  Plus I'm heading out to OtB tonight to catch a show with Aine & Jess so I wanted to look cute, but still be comfy (I am a walker after all).  I really love how the blue stripe on my tights matches the blue houndstooth in the blazer!

Last night was deliciously low key and exactly what I needed since plans for tonight will probably end up raucous (judging by the stories Jess has told me about the Poles...yesh).  So yay for seeing old friends!  Yay for seeing fun new theatre! Yay for hanging out with international casts! Yay for...

...1 day...

Sheer Genius

tank: kimchi blue from Urban, sweater: BP from Nordstrom, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, boots: Chinese Laundry, cameo: kitteh  butt
I got really lucky this morning.  My phone freaked out (not sure why) so my alarm didn't go off.  Luckily, my brain figured something was up when I rolled over and it was already light out, so I checked my phone and leaped out of bed and into the shower.  All was fine.  I even made it to work on time, but ya know, that initial freak out always sucks... I ended up having to shut the phone off to get it to reset itself.  It was totally acting weird... Might try to take it to T Mobile tonight to see if they can figure out why it's buggy...

The kitteh date was interesting.  Far from what I had imagined, but ultimately, good.  The roomie and I now have a new (temporarily) kitteh.  Interestingly, Francis was the aggressive hisser and Tybs just hungout under the bed or behind the blue chair trying to stay out of her way.  But then, of course, she'd retreat scared to her spot (in the hall closet on top of the suitcases underneath all my coats) immediately after hissing, so I think they just need to feel each other out for a bit.  For now, Tybs is in my room (I moved his food/water) and Fran has the run of the apt (minus Jess' room) although I imagine she's just gonna stay in the closet unless she needs to eat/drink/use her litter box...

Hoping the kittehs become bff's and they can roam the apartment together.  Not causing trouble, just snuggling and hanging out.  Keeping each other company. (crossing my fingers on that one...)

Tonight the mama and seestor and I do our downtown Xmas hangout/last minute shopping.  Although, I am all done with mine!  I  might pick somethings up for co-workers, but that would be about it.  But should be funtimes anyways!  Yay family!  Yay almost Xmas!

Holidaze

tunic: (as blouse) Free People from Nordstrom, skirt: BCBG Maxaria from Nordstrom, tights: gifted Donna Karen, boots: Chinese Laundry, accessories: bejeweled bracelet, Joan necklace
Love these tights!  Seriously, I mean, I liked them when I saw them in my stocking, but once I put them on?  GAH!  How 60's are they?!  LOVE!  I just wanna wear them with a bright orange mini and white go go boots!  So, super thanks parentals!

So, today we are off in a little over an hour to lunch at Wild Ginger as a company (and hopefully get Xmas bonuses? One can hope!) and then HAIRCUT!  w00t!  Super excited to have shorter hair again because this mangled mess is a PAIN to deal with, for realzies...

Sorted

tunic: Fluxus from Nordstrom, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, sweater: Express, boots: Chinese Laundry,  accessories: mirror earrings, long black beaded necklace
I am exhausted.  Got home from my first marathon to make 3 cd's and now... I just have 30 min of work before I can head to QFC to buy wrapping paper, wrap all my presents, pack, (attempt to) relax for a bit, and then head over to MI to do it ALL OVER AGAIN...

All I want is to be able to sleep in tomorrow.  And I cannot... I needz sleeeeeep...

Cowboy Take Me Away

shirt: Papaya, tank: Costco, jeans: Levi's, boots: gifted Chinese Laundry, belt: Kenneth Cole Reaction from Nordstrom Rack
Last night (in the crazy windstorm) I caught Hearts Are Monsters at Rendezvous Jewel Box Theatre and hearted it.  Seriously, I was SOOO tired that I was just hoping it was good and it was!  So glad I was able to catch it.  Hilarious.  Plus I ran into, like, everyone!  Always nice to be able to pimp my show closing weekend!  And see people I haven't seen in forevers (oh yeah, THAT).

So, right now, here I am at work just waiting to continue working, but our stupid server freaked out last night when we lost power, so... I am sitting here with all my work piling up around me.  Just waiting.  And it sucks.  Today was going to be busy (as Tuesdays usually are) even without this 2 hour interruption from work, but now... God only knows...

I did, however, find out yesterday afternoon that I will NOT be continuing to work with this company after Threepenny ends and I told my boss that my last day will be 1/15.  I now have 2 months left!  And then I am rehearsaling and moving onward in some capacity or another.  Soon, I am sure, I will be training someone new to take over my job and I already have senioritis for sure!  The Countdown Has Begun!

And speaking of Countdowns (capitalized due to its importance), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1 (or as I like to refer to it HP7.1) comes out at midnight on Thurs!  I CANNOT WAIT!  I get off work early on Thursday to go to the UW v UCLA game with either Patrick or Lindy before meeting Dani and going to Cinnebarre for the HP7.1 midnight show!  THEN I have Friday off and Dani & I will be going to the Harry Potter exhibit at the Science Center to celebrate even MORE Harry Potter-ness!  SOOO excited!  I only have about 1.5 days left of work this week!  w00t!

And next week is Thanksgiving!  So, we have a halfday on Wed and then no work on Thurs or Fri!  AND THEN the holiday season really starts!  Threepenny will be here before I know it!

PLUS this weekend is the closing of MCE!  Everything is converging!  Holiday insanity here I come!

Red, White and Black

shirt: H&M, sweater: Mod Cloth, jeans: Levis, boots: Chinese Laundry from DSW
OK, so I had plans to take new pics before I changed into wedding attire, but... ya know, I forgot, so here is the old collage.  Rock it!

Tonight is a show then the wedding.  Hopefully, everything goes as planned and is fun & easy.  Hopefully...

Saturday Night Fever

jeans: j brand from Nordstrom, tee: threadless, tank: Costco, boots: Chinese Laundry from DSW
Second night!  Heading toward the show where Dani & my mama are going to be.  Super excited to rock it again.  It went so well last night and the audience really seemed to like it despite its length.  And guess what?  I'm funny!  Yay!  People really liked me!

I love the script, my cast and we had a great audience last night!  Let's do it again!

Red Robin

top: BCBG Maxazaria from Nordstrom, jeans: j brand from Nordstrom, boots: Chinese Laundry,  Accessory: silver Express cuff
Fri was full of crazy insane theatre.  Christian Rizzo was insane.  It was perhaps the most uncomfortable hour I have ever spent watching something onstage.  And I loved it.  There is no way for me to put into words what the show was about because it is completely unexplainable.  I mean, I almost cried 3 or 4 times and the show was only an hour long.  One hour!  Then I went out with the OtB-ers and Rizzo and talked about the show and it was loverly...

Yesterday was my marathon day.  Started with yoga, then whooshing over to Cider House pt 1, home for dinner and Cider House pt 2.  Then over to Kate's to celebrate her birthday.  Hearts to a crazy loverly day!  Both Cider Houses were great and everyone was ridiculously talented.  Seriously.  The cast was 24 people and it was STRONG.  Everyone held their own and really rocked it.  For six hours of theatre, they managed to keep me firmly engaged for the whole time.

Today I was able to watch some movies and relax and am heading to meet Sara (and possibly Carolyn) for date drinksies before going to God of Carnage at the Rep.  Excited!  Should be really good.

Next week starts the work things/run thru dance pre-tech.  We have our 2 ten-of-twelves on Sat & Sun followed by tech week and opening!  Rockin' it!

Indian Summer

tunic: Zara (gifted), leggings: American Apparel, boots: Chinese Laundry (gifted), sweater: (not pictured) thrifted, accessories: cocktail ring, bejeweled bracelet
Bangs. Driving. Me. INSANE.  I dunno what day this is, but the second I get a chance to chat with my costumer and figure out if I can cut my hair or not, I will do SOMETHING with them because right  now... they are just chillin' in my eyes and it's pissing me off!

Last night at rehearsal we were talking about the cowboy boots + skirt combo and how cute it can be, so I decided to rock it today (with some leggings too, it's not as warm as it was yesterday).  It is still pretty humid outside though, kinda nice.  Like the Indian summer is making up for our average 58.9 degree summer (yes, that is the true April-August average temp--I call some BS on that "summer" weather!  But I said no more whining about the weather, so...) and I am just hoping it continues to be this nice and muggy and humid (suck it, Jess!) because I heart it!  Of course, Annex holds heat like nobody's business so by the end of rehearsal I was a sweat monster, but I vote sweaty over freezing anyday (GAH!  Flashback to Lear rehearsals in that freezing basement in Belltown, huddled by a heater--HELL!), seriously, it sucks.

More 4-hour rehearsal-ing will ensue tonight, but I feel like I have so much more energy today it is sorta ridic.  No idea why.  Slept better, maybe?  Hey, good thing about this insane schedule of mine is that my insomnia seems to have retreated back into the recesses of my mind!  w00t!  That, at least, I can be happy about.  I'll take it!

I am forcing myself to read the final book in Hunger Games trilogy slowly because I know it is the last one.  Also, I got confirmation that the rights have been purchased to turn them into a movie (BOO!)...le suck.  They are so good I don't want someone to water the violence down for a PG-13 rating, but... I'm sure they will...  I am still about half-way done with Mockingjay already, though... SO GOOD!  Suzanne Collins just might get me to stand in line with the kiddies to get her John Hancock in November... she juuuuuust might...

Also, new purse arrived!  Expect a Michael Kors related update soon!

Spa Day

tee: Bitten by SJP from Steve & Barry, pants: jolt from Nordstrom, sweatshirt: lululemon, booties: Chinese Laundry from DSW
Wow, to put it mildly: today was relaxing.  Seriously, relaxing.  Lindy, mama and I all had a spa day!  Full of facials, massages and mani/pedis.  LOOONG day of treating ourselves and it was nice to have one more "vacation" day before I head back to real life (BO-RING) tomorrow. The thing I really need to start working on is my lines... whoops!  Should have been working on those for a while, but vacation=do nothing, right?  Right???

Total Domination

tunic: hawk for Urban Outfitters, sweater: Lux for Urban Outfitters, leggings:  Bebe, boots: Chinese Laundry from Norstrom

There is nothing quite like a good night's sleep in nice, clean sheets to make me realize I really should do my laundry more often... I now have clean clothes and am so excited to wear some of those items that have been living at the bottom of my laundry basket for the last few months...

We have a dialect workshop tonight (North Carolinian--yeah, it's JUST as hard to place as you think it would be...) and I can't wait to get some more guidance on where I should be heading with this character (linguistically, at least).  I think that working specifically with the voice will definitely help Candy take shape.  Tomorrow, I start actual script work and then Saturday I have four whole hours of rehearsal!  And then hopefully, a little Husky football with Dani!

(I'm Peeking) Over Your Shoulder

So I already extolled the brilliance that was FFOK, but lemme add one more thing. Korby's organ BROKE during the first song, so by the time I got there, everything was being played in "organ" style on a casio keyboard (or as he referred to it a "crotch organ"). And it STILL worked. Amazing.

I also saw Tsar yesterday at SIFF and lemme just preface this with Ivan the Terrible? Pretty much an AWFUL person. Yeah, of course everyone confessed to his made up plots, under threat of torture most people would 'fess up to ANYthing... Crazy. He wasn't just power hungry, either, he wanted God to send him signs that he was doing the right thing. He believed he was an instrument of God's will. Creeepy. And, sadly, very timely. Religious fanatics seriously creep me out. Good movie though. Some tough torture sequences, but beautifully shot and acted. Plus the movie reel died on us for about 5 min, so we all got free vouchers! Success!

Tonight I have my first real rehearsal for As You Like It. Table work on a scene I am assuming I am only in to sing and fill out the "men" in the forest. Then I'm going to see a movie about gay neo-nazis falling in love called Brotherhood... should be interesting. Hopefully no more torture though. I think I'm tortured out for a while...

Of course, in all the fun I was having last night, I stayed out too late (and on the way home was yelled at by a homeless man to "go home" and I was like "I am!"), so today I am exhausted and wanted to be comfy. I am wearing my stretchy black Jolt pants from Nordys, purple off the shoulder The Ballet Studio tee by American Apparel with black racerback Express tank underneath and black Chinese Laundry booties with silver studs. I am also wearing my mirrored earrings and purple bracelets.

Tomorrow I get to go to yoga (yay!), but then have to miss a SIFF movie I really wanted to see because I have rehearsal (boo), but MIGHT be able to get back in time to catch the wknd 1 NWNW studio series at 5pm (fingers crossed) and then catch a movie, Fathers and Guns at Uptown tomorrow nite... YIKES. Weekend is gonna be jam packed...

Bak to Black

Yesterday was a bit insane and also lazy. Morning was crazy trying to get to Dad and Pam's to get furniture, then Jess and I set it up and were STARVING, so we went to eat at the Tom Douglas pizza joint, Serious Pie (serious yum!) and then I had plans for the afternoon, but... I ended up naping and watching the rest of Angel instead. Then I passed out at, like, 9 or so... Guess I needed sleep... I was planning on taking a picture of what I wore when I went out last night, but... since I didn't... no pic...

Today, I am heading to Iron Man 2 with my Mama and Seestor and then hopefully Elliot Bay for some books and Harvard Exit for Life During Wartime tonight. I am wearing my black jolt pants from Nordys, black thrifted sheer cowlneck tee and black Chinese Laundry booties with silver studs.

All You Need Is Love

Do do do do do!

I am wearing my thrifted grey Love x4 tee, dark grey j brand jeans from Nordys, green striped Cardigan New York sweater and black Chinese Laundry studded booties. Plus you can see what a great job she did with my hair! Thank GOD I got it cut. It had been over 3 months. Gross.

It is ridiculous outside. Nasty. No fun at all. AND the start of Memorial Day weekend (WTF?!). Lovely. Looks like it'll be good weather to stay inside and watch plays/movies, which is exactly what I have scheduled.

Tonight Dani and I are going to Candide at the 5th, tomorrow I have plans with the roomie to see a double feature of Farewell & My Year Without Sex at SIFF, Sun is possibly a SATC (but not SATC2)-style brunch with my seestor, shopping at Neimans and/or The Hedgehog and Mon is another SIFF, Life During Wartime. Plus I am definitely doing yoga tomorrow morning (it's almost been a month...). Busy weekend, but it should be good.
