I am wearing this to rehearsal tonight. I spent my last day off yoga-ing and then hanging out in the sun. It was glorious. Tomorrow I return to the work week and to gross weather. Thank you, Seattle weather gods for treating me fantastically on my three-day weekend. Yes!

Dani and I met and got stand-by tickets for Border Songs at Book-It tonight.  Stressful getting dinner beforehand because they were soooo slow to get it out to us.  But the show was good and I was glad to have caught it before it closed.  So much good theatre in this town recently.  Nicely done, Seattle.

Wore this to my opener this morning.  Only 4-ish hours and then headed out to my place to change and get ready to head to my third of four auditions for the week... whew. Seattle is really trying its hardest to get me to stay put... But it's just possible postponements in my mind...

I call this my Amelia Pond look and I kinda heart it.  Of course, if I was really Amy I'd be running around London (or wherever... or whenever...) without the leggings.  But I am not.  And Fall has returned to Seattle with a vengeance (the WIND), so I will be bundling up to head over to catch OtB's opening show (solo... despite solid efforts to find someone to wander the insanity with me) and hang out with the Roomie.

Super enjoyed Inherit the Wind and seeing Patrick last night (finally remembered to give him WW season 5...)!  And, of course, the absolutely GORGEOUS summer (September) weather. Now I'm getting ready to head out to Nathaniel and Jenna's wedding and enjoy being outside and celebrating with all the college friends I haven't seen in a bit. Yay!

Tomorrow I'm gonna go hangout with my friend at his pool! YES!  Loving this mid-80s September weather.  Thank you, Seattle!

Well, another openin' and dear god am I happy for a day off to sleep in, etc. tomorrow. Whew, I need it. I also got to hangout in the loverly sun this afternoon reading in my romper at the park near my apt.  Le sigh.  It's also supposed to get into the 80's next week!  STAY THAT WAY, WEATHER!

Yesterday was glorious!  The weather was beautiful!  I got to do yoga!  I got to go shopping at Nordy's (and spend all of Fri's paycheck in one go...whoops...)! I got to hangout with the roomie(s)!  I got to sit outside! And all of this was before I headed to Camp Long to rock the show.

Seriously, we had a FAB audience last night and they totes buoyed me into going to the late night of 14/48 men's weekend show, which was awesome and sorta ridic good.  But then, I made some bad choices.  Just sayin' that staying out until 3am when I have to open then next day, not the best choice.  If I didn't have a show today it would be different, but I have already worked 5 hours and now I have to gear myself up to go to our matinee all on two hours of sleep... But it was awesome catching up with people and pimping my show (the hair helps sell it) and pretending like I am a real person with normal job hours...

Today's the Day

Even though today was an absolutely gorgeous day, I got to spend it inside waiting for the stupid Comcast guy.  But it was worth it because he reconnected us and now we are good to go!  Yay!  Happy pants internet!

Had today off and I'm getting ready now to head out to our Burien show and then maybe out for a bit before I get ready to open tomorrow for a little 5 hour shifty and then out to Magnuson to catch Balagan's summer show and then over to Luther Burbank for Mackers.

Since I spent the whole day in a super hot Starbucks, I sorta overcompensated when I got home and grabbed my Zara shorts, assuming that if I get cold out there I can always wear a blanket until I go onstage and then I'll be hot once the show is over.  This muggy weather is throwing me for one helluva loop.  I have no idea what to wear or how to wear it...

The show turned out great, too!  We didn't get rained on at all (thank god) and even got a burst of sun! Of course, the irony of watching The Tempest out in a tempest was not lost on this audience (um, a bachelorette party to Shakespeare in the park?! What?!).

And now that I am all caught up with these, to sleep until... tomorrow's GreenStage softball game...

Will Not Be Uplifted

w00t!  This was for yesterady's inconsistent weather (sunny? cloudy? rainy? MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND, SEATTLE!) and rehearsal at Lincoln Park followed by an all-company BBQ at Ken's in SeaTac.

More funtimes chased with more beer and good foodzies (and, of course, croquet). But I definitely managed to hurt the outside of my right shin/knee and big toe somehow... le boo. Hoping it goes away as I am up more (like the weird foot pain does--I am getting OLD).

Fun times with the cast! So glad we all go out together and schtuff.  Makes life more funzies!

Another Day, Another Dollar

I have a short little opening four-hour shift this morning before showering and getting ready for Jenna's shower this afternoon.  It's my first time opening on the weekend and although I enjoy being able to sleep in, it's still a little hard for me to reconcile that Sat & Sun might not necessarily be my days off... (rehearsal aside).

We got to be outside for last night's rehearsal!  Which was loverly.  Also, it was relatively short (especially compared to the night before where we didn't get outta there until almost 10:30...blearg.).  I was home and in bed by 9 (to prepare for my 430am alarm...). Starting to really get questions about my character... I think I need to pin down my director one of these night's and have him help me sort some of these out...

I am really hoping I get to enjoy some of the sunshine we are supposed to have today and tomorrow (we might hit 80!!!!!!) before it drops back down on Mon...

PS no word yet on whether or not I have a callback on Mon. FINGERS CROSSED!

What Do You Want?

Well, I just got back from work and shopping for a bridal shower gift for Jenna's shower tomorrow and getting thai foodz cause I was hungry... and life is good.

I was luckily scheduled perfectly for a) if I get called back for Midsummer (audition went super well, fingers crossed I get the callback!) and b) my scheduled dentist appt and massage on Wed!  Yay!  Getting things done!

I have all opening shifts next week, but most of them are half or 3/4 days (only one opening 8-hour shift) and it looks like I will be able to hit up some yoga next week--w00t!

I had a customer today ask me if I was Marilyn Monroe's daughter because, apparently, I look like her and I am wearing the earrings.  Random, but awesome.

Heading back to work today was weird at first.  It took about a half-hour (during the rush, of course) for my body to remember how to do everything after the 2 days off... bizarro.

Super happy that it's supposed to be so nice this weekend.  I just hope I get to enjoy some of it.

Bigger Than Me

Well, I am getting ready to head to my Midsummer audition, so send me good thoughts!  I feel like I am as prepared as I am gonna get for this audition and just really wanna rock it...

Enjoyed the sun today (supposed to be high 70's this weekend! YAY!) and went to yoga for the first time since the accident (felt pretty good, although I definitely noticed differences).  I got the OK from my massage therapist and am gonna try to get an appointment on the schedule as soon as I know my work schedule for next week (I'll get it tomorrow).

I'm feeling pretty rested and ready to head back to work tomorrow.  But first rehearsal tonight!  I am booking it to Magnuson as soon as my audition ends and am excited to really delve into my first scene and this character, in general (um...how DOES one play a non-human, often invisible, all powerful, servant spirit? Yeah, that's what I thought...).

Yesterday was my first official long shift at work and I think I did a pretty good job of it, if I do say so myself and then went ahead and spent some more time standing and cheering for my Mariners (totes beat  the Yankees! w00t!), but now my back is killing me.

No yoga this morning because I am trying to give my back a break, but the day is beautiful, so I am sorely tempted to spend some time outside at Folklife... we shall see

Done All Wrong

Getting ready to wrap up my first week of training for the new job!  Then three days off!  Yay-zers.  Seriously, I am still recovering from opening yesterday (I'm sure FFOK last night did not help, but WORTH IT!) and am seriously in need of a few days to sleep, if not sleep in.

A little bummed I barely got to enjoy the gorgeous weather yesterday, so I am def gonna try to get some sunshine-y goodness today after I get off work.  I have plans to see a show at Annex with Ali tonight and tomorrow night is Brews & Bards... Theatre!

Last night's FFOK was so bittersweet.  It was pretty insane since everyone who knew it was wrapping itself up came out to say goodbye.  All the regulars were particularly bummed.  Kate & I rocked it on "Holdin' Out For A Hero" one more time and I hit up all my regs ("When You're Good To Mama", "These Boots Are Made For Walking" & "Down in the Hole"), but by the time I left (and many others stayed) there were many hugs given and talks about a reunion sometime.  Seriously, made some good friends and am gonna miss my first & third Thursday routine.

There will be mass amounts of coffee consumed today.  Just sayin'.

Let's Do It Again

Well, I'm about to head to day 2 of training at Starbucks and this time I am ready for the sun!  After voice yesterday, I ended up meeting up with Dad and getting to say goodbye to the last bit of family that was still here from the wedding before just sitting on the back porch and soaking up the sun with Dad & the puppers.  It was pretty loverly.

I've been trying to go to bed earlier to get my body used to it since I start work at 430am tomorrow and I have no idea how I am going to do this... Early for me right now means 11 or 1130 and that only gives me about 4 or 4.5 hours of sleep (def not enough for my body).  Tonight I think I am gonna aim for 9 (HA!) and we'll see how that works.  Tomorrow afternoon there will definitely be nappage.  MAJOR nappage.

Had another great interview with the other district Starbucks managers and should hopefully hear from one of the districts' people by tomorrow, which is supes exciting/nerve-racking.  I really hope that one of them offers me a job for realz.

Was able to run errands this morning and yoga'd before my interview and now I'm getting ready to meet la mama for tonight's Cinco de Mayo Mariners game!  Yay!  But, big giant boo on the rainy weather.  It was so much nicer yesterday... blearg.  Now I'm gonna change and get ready to meet her at the bus barn in about an hour...

Heading to help out the seestor in her packing for school soon.  She's leaving in less than 1 week and it makes me sad pants, so I'm just trying to get as much time in with her as possible.
