Anyways... those are my thoughts. Plus, then I could still head east in January or February before generals really get under way... Probs good to get outta here sooner rather than later otherwise I'll never leave...

Today my mama is taking me & the seestor out to dinner to celebrate Lin finishing her grad school apps and me getting cast in Threepenny! And I get to meet their new kitten, Little Monster! Yay! Should be good times! Sundays are awesome!
PS Dad, listen to Pam, that IS my hair in the last post, NOT a wig. It's called hairspray and back-combing and it's not even that hard to do. Listen to your wife.

Stupid ankle... Yesterday, I managed to step on a rock and roll my ankle (the left one, naturally--and sidenote: although you will constantly see my shortening words and using little nicknames (ie: "totes", "obvi", "seestor", etc) I WILL NEVER SHORTEN "naturally" to "natch"! Not cool. Just stupid... OK, rant over), which ya know, no biggie, but since I badly sprained it TWICE in a one month period earlier this year, I think it's still a little bit sensitive. And with all my walking yesterday and the yoga... it was def sore when I got home last night, but I took some advil & slept with it raised, but even so... still a little throb-y today. BOO!
Also, sorry to call you out roomie, but why did you come home so late? Dear god! Both the kitteh (on my bed) and I just about jumped outta our skin. And RIGHT when I was just about to fall asleep (stupid insomnia)... oh wells... I do it to you enough... I will have to remember to shut my door a little more before I head to sleepytimes... And come to think of it, it might not even have been that late, just the jarring me outta almost sleep might have made it FEEL that way...
And also, yeah, haven't really been able to sleep the last three or so nights, so I am trying to cut caffeine from my diet after noon. Yesterday I think I had two cups of coffee, two cups of caffeinated tea and then a 'bucks coffee around 330... whoops! But I thought with the yoga it would cancel it out (it did not)! Blearg...
Tonight we start run thrus and get two in before our night off on Fri (when I will be attending In the Heights at the 5th) and our two 10- to12-hour tech days this weekend... YIKES! PLUS, I somehow need fit some laundrytime in there (I need something for the show)... I REALLY wish I would have had Monday off now... Here we go!

Out of Your Dreams...

Finished the big audition this morning (without having to sing the SUPER high song that I happened to memorize...) with a conversation with the casting director about "my dancing"--my un-coordination strikes again! Meh... oh wells... What can you do? The song kicked ass, so I'm concentrating on that part right now...
We jump (head first) back into As You tonight (sans p/u rehearsal--w00t!) and I am super excited to start playing again! Only 2 more weekends and 6 more performances! But we're mostly rockin' it in Seattle from now on (with a brief trip to Redmond tomorrow).
For le audition/nice weather I am wearing my flounce tbd brown polka dotted dress with lace trim from Nordys, thrifted 3/4 sleeve lace-back tan sweater and brown Seychelles pumps with gold trim from Loehmanns in NYC. Also wearing my pearlized shell bracelet from Hawaii.

I'm A Little LOST in Ruffles
So, yesterday was the LOST series finale and, oh there was drama. Apparently, Comcast went out in the Seattle area about 15 minutes into the final episode, which we realized when the DVR stopped recording about 45 minutes later... Dani called and yelled and we ended up in Kirkland at one of Nate's friend's houses watching his DVR'd finale (thank GOD for DVR). And then, I really am not sure what I thought about it. To protect those of you who have not seen it I will go into NO details, but it was a little confusing... Not that that is anything new, but... I was a little LOST.
Before the LOST finale-ness Dani and I hung out watching the SIFF movies Nowhere Boy and I Am Love. And let me just say, Nowhere Boy was effing brilliant! The 19-year-old kid who played John NAILED him. Really, a very, very powerful performance. Plus I loved that John "Imagine" Lennon was such a badass in his youth. Plus the kid from "Love, Actually" played Paul and he was super adorable! And he can sing! And Kristin Scott Thomas. I mean, enough said, right? She was (and always is) BRILLIANT!
I Am Love was a little more... um, I think the technical term is "art house", but I would go with artsy fartsy... It took itself waaaay too seriously and although it was absolutely drop-dead gorgeous to look at and Tilda Swinton was near-perfect, the story as a whole was really lacking a core. There didn't seem to be any reason why you were watching this thing... frustrating.
But overall, I think 3 out of the 4 movies I saw this weekend were really good. Winning weekend, for sure.

Store Portrait: Zara

This will be a reoccurring column where I will paint a portrait of a store that I have been to in another city/country and would KILL to have here in Seattle.
The first one is Zara. I totally fell in love with this store when I was in New York last Spring. Literally every style of fashion you could want at very decent prices. Their clothes look much more expensive than they actually are and until other stores (H&M, F21) they last and you don't walk down the street and see 10 other people wearing the same thing. AND you can't buy things online either (although according to Stylist that might change in the fall!)... It's like they are telling me to move East...
I bought a number of things at Zara when I was there because it seemed like everything I tried on fit like a dream and I was looking for a bday gift for my sister at the time. I have a great trench, the blue dress I wore earlier this week for my audition and a light blue/grey empire waisted shirt. I also bought a really cute tee that I gave to my sister. And I think the total was under $350, so pretty good if you ask me.
I think the biggest differences between Zara and a lot of the other uber-trendy stores out there are the price and quality. You might be paying more (but not that much more), but the clothes last a lot longer. And look much nicer. When their online retail goes up in the Fall I will definitely hit that up and until then, I will be vying for a brick and mortar store right here in the Emerald City.
