And then, I wore this over to my RENT audition at the 5th. Yesh. It has been a crazy week. Super excited to don my Bellatrix costume again tonight for one last Halloween party and to really enjoy tomorrow OFF.  I head back to work on Wed, but don't open again until Fri, so that sweet respite will be much needed. YAY!

PS If I ever decide to go and yell at a football game the day before a BIG audition again, will someone just slap me and say "No! NO!"?  Thanks!

I wore this to my opener on Sunday, after going to Evan & Erin's costume party the night before (where Dani & I won best couple's costume for Narcissa & Bellatrix--YAY! Free booze!). It was great to see everyone! But I was rul rul tired on Sunday...

Mama Gonna Knock You Out

Yup, I fell...

And it's not even a good story. I fell ON MY WAY to the show Fri night. Yeah. The bag of shit I use in the show, plus the costume bag, plus my giant purse meant that when there was a crack in the sidewalk I couldn't figure out which bag to ditch fast enough to not fall on my face. I did land on my palms (which are scratched up), a rock smashed my right ring finger, my right elbow and knee have some pretty epic bruises and I even managed to scrape up my back on the way down.

Don't worry. It looks MUCH worse than it is. This is the next morning, sans makeup and you can still see how swollen my lip was. Now, it's much better, thanks for your concern. Also, my teeth are fine. Pride hurts the most (because it was Halloweekend and there was HUGE group of people who saw and were very concerned about me bleeding as I just ignored them and rushed on to the show since I was running late--of course--and super embarrassed).

So that's my story. I AM REALLY FINE.

And It Begins

This is what I actually wore to my show. Carrying my costume in the bag. And, of course, on the way to the show, my wand managed to fall through the perfectly wand-shaped hole in the bottom. Meaning I never even got to USE the wand with the costume. Le Boo.

Azkaban Ruined Me

This costume took forevs. This is the wig that took me 3 hours to curl. Am obsessed with it. Despite the fact that it isn't so much Bellatrix as it is some creepy witch/Elvira/sorceress thing. But I love the Death Eater tattoo and the pretty obsessed with the whole look despite it not being perfect.  Wish the grommets coulda worked out, but with the sleeves being lace, I was too worried I would ruin the dress, so... no grommets. LOVING IT!

Worn this morning to my last weekday opener for a while. And thank god. Supes glad that I get to sleep in tomorrow. AND CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN TONIGHT! Day one of Halloween is a go! w00t! Cannot WAIT to start this shizz.

Bellatrix is such a kickass costume!  Pics to come (for sheezey)! Still haven't received my bird skull necklace in the mail though. Le boo.  I just wanna wear it tonight!

I wore this to my bizarro shorty shift today and then over to my massage. Tomorrow I open with another shorty shift and then getting ready to pack everything up at la mama's and back to the show!  YAY!  I have missed everyone super a lot. THEN Halloween is this weekend!!!! YES! My fav holiday is almost here and I have three opportunities to wear my kick-ass Bellatrix costume. w00t!

Wore this out to meet Justine for brekkie in Madrona and then out to my voice lesson.  But after breakfast and before the lesson, I went ahead and finished up my Halloween costume.  And lemme tell you, that 3-hour long wig curling, totes worth it. w00t! This costume is pretty epic! I heart it a LOT. Super excited to rock it out three times this week. Done and done.

Wore this to tech last night. Rocked it! Made it through Act I and tonight the plan is to run through Act II and then do a full run or as much of one as we can get through before the night ends.  My lower back and hips and left gluts are KILLING me, so I am beyond happy to have tomorrow off.  Only plans include yoga, to work this shizz out, and a PT appointment, to hopefully electro stim it all away.  I dunno what's up, but it hurts.

Plus, I picked up a corset for my Bellatrix costume and am gonna nix the grommet idea because of the delicate nature of the fabric of my costume, so really all I need is a silver pen to draw the curliques and I am ready to go! Once I get a wig.

Oh Halloween, how I love you!  How much fun is it to get all dressed up in costume with a bunch of other people and hangout?!  I mean, seriously?  Best Holiday EVER!!!!! Plus, I heart seeing what other people dress up as.  Sometimes people are so clever!

Today my mama is taking me & the seestor out to dinner to celebrate Lin finishing her grad school apps and me getting cast in Threepenny!  And I get to meet their new kitten, Little Monster!  Yay!  Should be good times!  Sundays are awesome!

When my hair is newly washed is when I most realize how LONG it is... and we're only into the second weekend of our 5-week run... YESH.  Hair appointment will be made the week after we close, for realzies.

My second do-nothing, relaxing night at home was also glorious.  I even did, like, 30 minutes of washing dishes completely cleaning out our sink.  It had been FAR too long... I def still need to clean my room (mostly just rehang up clothes and put my shoes back onto the rack--which I think might be on its last legs, to be honest... That thing is slowly dying shoe purchase by shoe purchase...), but I feel like cleaning out the sink is a BIG step in the right direction...

Pick-up rehearsal tonight.  Rock it!  Can't wait to see how it runs with the new cuts/shifts...

Also, I totes VOTED yesterday at lunch and mailed my ballot today!  It feels good to do my civic duty (and the Dems need ALL THE HELP they can get this midterm election), have YOU done YOURS?  VOTE!!!!! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ridic excited for Halloween this weekend (I might even rock my costume tomorrow at work just for funzies)! Still exhausted despite taking last night to recover.  I was supposed to see a show tonight, but I think I'm gonna take tonight off too... Hopefully, I will be bright eyed-bushy tailed for the pick up tomorrow.  Blearg!

Plus it's HalloWEEK so, come ON!  I have to go out this weekend (in a super-cute costume: have YOU figured it out yet?!  I'll add another HINT to the mix tonight...) with my partner in costumed crime, Dani.

I've also started the ever-present dance of "taking a month off from theatre" (read: actively NOT auditioning for things that would rehearse in December) and I'm having issues saying no (read: deleting possibilities from my inbox).  I'm also super-wanting to do some film work.  I really feel like it's the one area that I have NO experience in (probably because I don't) and I think it's not only a good skill to have, but it might be supes fun as well.  Keeping my eyes peeled for opportunities in indie, short films or web series (which I can then translate into commercial work & more $$?  Who know!)...

A little over 5 more hours of work and then... relaxing sleepy-times again tonight!  w00t!  All Hail HalloWEEK!

Yesh... Seriously, yesh.  I feel like I have been running around like a crazy person with zero to no down time and am in need of a day of lying in bed watching Netflix or (dare I say it) sleeping in.  Plus, I would love to be able to save some money and cook for myself or, I dunno, maybe spend more than 2 waking hours in my apartment.  I think the cat is starting to hold a grudge.  But this is how tech/dress/opening week always looks. The final push toward the finish.  And we need all the tech/work that we can get!

At least I'm not called until 6:45 tonight which means I can get some of that home foodz/cat luvin' time in before heading to tech.  I just dunno how I am gonna sustain myself for the next week... I need to grocery shop so badly it actually hurts.  I am pretty sure I don't have any quick-cook food left and shopping before heading home would just negate the time that I would have AT home... conundrum.

On another note, I did finalize my Halloween costume on Saturday night.  Styling my wig and figuring out the little details that always make the costume that much better.  Now, I just can't wait to WEAR IT!  Yay!

OK, so I know a lot of people already know what I am going to be for Halloween because a) I have a big mouth & b) I heart Halloween more than almost anything else.  Seriously.  It's def my fav holiday and besides it being supes fun to dress up in general, going all out and taking on a completely different character all night is more fun than almost anything else.  It's like acting for normal people!  All over!  For an entire weekend!

This year, I have a show on both the Fri & Sat of Halloween wknd (it's on a Sun this year), but I guarantee you that I will be going out and celebrating the amazingness that is All Hallows Eve both of those nights post-show!

So, to extend the Halloween awesomeness I will be giving hints to my costume (I have 3 or 4 parts that should help you guess) leading up to the best holiday ever!  I apologize now if you have no idea who I am dressing up as, some people might not know this person.
