Lindy went and did some looking at the actual school and talked with the head of the school and her mentor and then we worked out in the crappy little gym in the la quinta before we went shopping (I dressed up my little barbie, Lindy, and helped her spend some monies on great new clothes) and I kept myself from buying too much (a new swimsuit top from Target, a purse and glasses necklaces), which I was very proud of. And then Lindy noticed that with my new necklace and tee, it could do THIS:
| HAHAHAHAHA! Bellatrix in glasses! |

Haven't been so exhausted when I woke up in a VERY long time (and oddly, my legs are super sore...riddle me that). Hopefully, today will be productive and fun. I have plans to get a pedi on our 2-hour dinner break, so that should be nice...

Yoga is tonight (although, does it make me a giant nerd that I am seriously considering skipping it to watch Obama's State of the Union? Yes, OK, I thought so...) and since I am done with rehearsal so early the plan consists of stopping by the library to drop off old & pick up new CDs before heading over there...

Also, the pic on the left? Courtesy of taking pictures while in the middle of a conversation with the roomie (-geist no longer!). Had to include it because it's like a virtual cameo... You know it, rooms!
Hitting up yoga tonight then gonna get back to those Christmas cd's. I think I'm gonna tackle them a different way because my usual method is taking too long. Would be perfect if I had until the 25th, but since I do not... I need to speed up this process... Tomorrow, the seestor and I are gonna do some xmas shopping post-work. Hopefully finding some things for this weekend...

Also, sorta makes last night's post seem obsolete, but I had promised the seestor that I would post my costume last night, so Lindy: that is all for you!
Tonight we start the second weekend of our run and I am SUPER excited! It's PWYC this entire weekend too! So, hopefully people will come out despite the Halloween-ness and enjoy our little play about one of the largest cash robberies in history. Plus, I'm funny and everything I wear is see-thru (this was my line at the Gregory Awards when I was telling people about our show).

Lady Wears The Blues
Thanks, co-workers, for some good times last night! We should do it again (haha, right, like in our free time? But srsly...)! We grabbed some wine and fatty foodz at RockSalt near work (um...happy hour from 3-9? Yes, please!) and then I went home utterly exhausted and did nothing. But, of course, when it was time to go to sleep my pounding heart wouldn't let me. God only knows what was causing me so much anxiety, but it certainly did NOT want me to get a good night of rest that's for damn sure...
Tonight I am going to yoga. Hopefully to thwart that silly anxiety from creeping back in right around sleepy-time... Blearg. DISLIKE.
I also supes need to go grocery shopping tonight post-yoga. I have NO FOODZ! NONE. And, ya know, toilet paper would be nice... (sorry roomie--meant to grab that last nite...)
Today I am rocking the blues: blue & white Banana Republic tee with my Parfait navy & white polkadotted ruffle sweater and seethrusoul jeans both from Nordys. And then the contrast in my grey plastic Target shoes.

Lord Warrant Us!

Today was a (fairly) early morning filled with donuts, SAM exhibits and Anniversary Sale shopping! Fun times, for sure! Jess and I wandered over to the best donut place ever (in the market--a dozen for $3!) and then to see the Andy Warhol/Kurt Cobain exhibit at SAM. Oh how much I heart Andy Warhol's screen tests! They are so much more exciting that you would imagine and it makes me happy because they are so simple.
I am now about to head to a quick little BBQ at one of the GreenStage board member's houses and then to our show at Judkins Park at 7pm tonight! Exciting!
I am wearing my H&M wide-leg jeans, grey Target plastic shoes, grey Pitaya tee and Parfait navy & white polka dotted ruffle front cardigan from Nordys.

There is No Such Thing as Too Many Sequins

I was told recently that all of my clothes are sparkly and I realized 2 things a) that is true and b) I'm totes OK with it. I love sparkly things. I'm like the crow in Secrets of Nimh--"a sparkly!"
Yesterday we really worked on the T+A scenes and they really feel solid now. I am so excited to just get onstage (on grass?) and PLAY! Tonight is our first run through and I can't wait to see how it all looks together, especially knowing where Audrey fits in everything and how our relationship really sizzles. Love! This summer is gonna rock!
I am wearing my silver sparkle-boob tunic from Heavenly Couture with my black Costco tank underneath, bdg skinny jeans, black v-neck Express cardigan and grey plastic Target flats.

Now in Technicolor

Today looks like it will be the last day to hit 70 degrees for a while...le boo... BUT the weekend was gorgeous! Made me very happy.
Yesterday I got a pedicure (Yay!) and then grabbed late lunch/early dinner with the roomie before heading to the non-stop theatre insanity that is Northwest New Works and I really did enjoy the eight pieces I saw. Although I missed the Tonys (but I heard, no biggie, they were boring anyway)...
Today is the day before the best day ever (aka flag day aka June 14th aka the day before my bday)! And it's also the day that the seestor and I get to go to IMOGEN HEAP!!!! So excited about that one there! I can't wait to get off work and book it over there to stand in line for GA!!!!
Today I am wearing my dark grey jbrand skinnies, blue racerback flounce by tbd tank and mustard yellow cardigan all from Nordys with my grey Target flats.

Simple
So I said that the audition went well, but I really didn't give any details (still in the "I was asked back to dance!" euphoria). So basically there were, like, 16 people in the room. And it was a small room, so that was a little intense. And as I was singing I saw buzzbuzzbuzz whispering and buzzbuzzbuzz smiling and as soon as I finished they were asking the pianist (RJ--yay!) "what was that top note?" "what was the range in that song?" So, basically, I knew I had rocked it! And left super proud of myself. And they were running behind, so I only was able to sing "Stranger Here Myself" too. w00t!
Then I went home and in the midst of making myself dinner (I am always STARVING post-audition), they called me to ask me to come to the dance call this afternoon!
Last night I also went to a SIFF movie (final wknd!), The Sentimental Engine Slayer, which, as I was telling Jess, was probably the most interesting non-linear movie I have ever seen. I am still unsure whether or not I actually LIKED the film, but I LOVED the style. It was so personal. Every scene felt like you were eavesdropping. It was in both Spanish and English and oftentimes they would just break into Spanish and there would be no subtitles, but you would get the gist of what they were saying. Or a character would be talking but there would be too much background noise to hear them. Like real life. And there wasn't really an ending... I loved that.
There was, however, a "talker" sitting directly behind me. Now, people who have been to the movies (or plays) with me know that I like to whisper something to my neighbor now and again, but she was genuinely a "What?! That was weird!" talker. I almost expected to hear her say "Don't go in there! The killer's behind the door!" I can only count my lucky stars this wasn't a horror movie. Almost turned around to tell her to shut it at one point... BOO on talkers!
So, anyway, today to work, dance call, and the music/movement rehearsal tonight I am wearing my black stretch jolt pants and light blue Rubbish tee from Nordys, white tank from Costco, grey Fossil boyfriend sweater and grey plastic shoes from Target.
PS If you wanna see a SIFF movie this weekend for free, go onto siff.net and take a look at the schedule, click the amount of tickets you want to purchase (under SIFF mbr), then use any one of these codes under the "redeem vouchers" area. If you need my log in or anything, just let me know. First come, first serve. I just don't want them to go to waste.

Hot Hot Hat
Yesterday, after spending $100 on new books at Elliott Bay Bookstore (including the new Sookie Stackhouse!), I wandered into a store on Broadway that is usually far too spendy for me, only to chance upon the perfect straw fedora. And on sale, too! The salesgirl even said as I was buying it, "I couldn't tell if that was ours or if you already owned it. It suits you so well." and $10 later I walked out with a new hat! Success! With my new straw fedora from Aprie, I am wearing an empire-waisted blue-grey Zara tunic, bdg dark denim jeans from UO and grey plastic Target shoes. I also threw on my thrifted black 3/4-length sweater for the office (it's always chilly).
I saw two movies yesterday and, honestly, they could not have been more different. Like I said last post, my Mama, Seestor and I went to see an Iron Man 2 matinee and I really liked the movie. It definitely is an example of superhero genre movie serving as a character study (a la the reinvigorated Batman franchise) instead of relying purely on the WHAM, BAM, POW crazy-insane fights that often plague other superhero movies. It was a nice continuation of the first Iron Man and props to director, Jon Favreau (who also plays Happy), for giving himself a pretty kick-ass fight sequence!
Lindy and I then wandered around Elliott Bay and grabbed lunch at the Elysian before splitting up. Then I wandered slowly down Broadway, killing time and ending up at Roy Street Coffee and Tea (the Starbucks designer coffee store) reading before my next movie Todd Solondz's Life During Wartime started at Harvard Exit.
It was an interesting movie. A continuation of the characters and story he started in Happiness (but with different actors) and if you like Todd Solondz movies (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness, Palindromes) you would probably like this movie. It is very dark (pedophilia, growing up, forgetting, forgiving, lying, suicide...), but also super-hilarious. Definitely a black, black comedy. And Allison Janney, Ciaran Hinds and Shirley Henderson (Moaning Myrtle) were brilliant. Plus fun little cameo from Gaby Hoffmann (of Now & Then fame), Paul Reubens (aka Pee-wee Herman) and Ally Sheedy (Breakfast Club, anyone?). I liked it, but then I like movies like this...
Then I got to walk home (downhill, thank you very much) learning that I am almost directly below Harvard Exit, just ya know, with I-5 in between...

Summer-y Spring
I love this look. These pants make me happy and the first time I break them out each Spring, I know the weather has turned warmer.
This look is totally a summer-y spring. I'm wearing my white seersucker Fossil pants with grey stripes, grey ruffled tank also from Fossil, black v-neck sweater from Express, multi-colored cuff, long chain earrings, and Target grey plastic shoes.
This is really the official start of my crazy work and rehearsal schedule. I am getting in a half-hour early and taking a short lunch. We will see how it ends up working out, but hopefully everything is easy and painless and FUN!
PS check out my duck hands in the one pic. Totally unintentional and hilarious! Also, I don't know why the pants do that wavy thing in the pictures. If you click on them and zoom in they look fine...

Circle Scarf
Love this look, like I said before. This American Apparel circle scarf just makes me happy. And so does this hat. I swear I bought it at Target for, like, $6...
Ladies Who Lunch Meet Casual Friday
That is honestly what I feel today's outfit resembles. One part ladies who lunch (note the pearls--necklace and earrings--and the pink American Eagle sweater) and two parts casual Friday (Current/Elliot boyfriend jeans, old school grey plastic-y Target ballet flats and blue and white Banana Republic t-shirt).
I really love mixing up looks, making them work for whatever occasion I want. Or many occasions at once. And honestly, like I was telling my co-workers this morning, it's been so long since I've done laundry (probably since mid-February?) that I've had to become creative with my outfits... Nothing's clean.
Also, I don't know what's up with the blur, but in sorta works with this look, so I kept it. I might throw in one more bathroom pic (that's for you, Jess) so you all can get a better look at the pearls, as well.
I'm also doing the whole circle scarf thing. And really, I love this look! It's from American Apparel in this really soft jersey material and electric blue (to go with the tee). Another totally lovely impulse buy! My Aunt gave one to my Mom for Christmas. The same material, but in grey and I was like "I HAVE to have one" so I went out and bought one for myself the next week or so. I really love it. Wear it all the time.
Last night I gave my hair a little bang trim, too. It was getting to that along-my-eyebrows/in-my-sightline point. Much better now...
Big plans for my Friday night too: laundry and vacuuming the apartment. No, seriously. And I couldn't be happier at this prospect...
