Black Cat

turtleneck: H&M, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, belt: Uniqlo, boots: OTBT from Nordstrom, accessories: Etsy Bellatrix necklace, Relic watch, cameo: kitteh butt
I wore this to my opener on Sunday, after going to Evan & Erin's costume party the night before (where Dani & I won best couple's costume for Narcissa & Bellatrix--YAY! Free booze!). It was great to see everyone! But I was rul rul tired on Sunday...

True or False?

blouse: Forever 21, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: OTBT from Nordstrom, belt: Kenneth Cole Reaction from Nordtsrom Rack, accessories: black hoops, Relic watch, cameo: Kitteh butt
MOOOORE kitteh butt!  Work this morning was torturous: long, boring and full of the crazy.  And rehearsal was sorta more of the same... I feel like we got a TON done, but it was long and def full of the crazy... I would love to have one night off, just one.  One.  Blearg.

Clean Up Your Act

blouse: Old Navy, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: OTBT from Nordstrom, belt:  Kenneth Cole Reaction from the Rack, accessories: Relic watch & mirror earrings,  cameo: Kitteh butt
I really heart these pics because as bad ass as I am trying to be in the pic on the left (to fit with my boots and belt...you should see how cute this looks with my "leather" jacket on too!), it just fails miserably when there is a kitteh butt cameo... Bajaja!

OMG. So. Tired.  This is the first time that I have had a 430am shift followed by random other errand-y stuff (in this case packing and heading to la mama's to take care of the Buggie and a voice lesson) before heading directly to rehearsal.  That's right.  This girl doesn't get a nap today... blearg. And I open tomorrow.  (I really tried to fit one in, but cooking and showering--it's been a week, I hate to admit--took precedent).  Big ol' giant thanks to la mama for buying me cooking supplies that fit within my bizarro dietary restrictions (weighed myself today and def see to have lost some weight--w00t!).

Excited to get back to a voice lesson regimen, but a little bummed that he couldn't meet me any later (thus negating naptime...) Brain not awake...

Make It Work

dress: Flounce TBD from Nordstrom, tank: thrifted, belt: BP from Nordstrom, sweater: thrifted, shoes: Asos, accessories: gifted bejeweled bracelet, Relic watch, gifted mini-heart necklace, Enerjewels earrings, gifted rings, cameo: KITTEH BUTT
It's been a while since there's been a kitteh butt cameo in a FFP and now? YAY!

Good opening shift and seriously, soooo much nicer than 430am weekday opens.  I work tomorrow (but not an open--yay!), Mon & Tues  (both opens...) too... whew!  I will be sooo in need of a massage by Wed.

Just (trying) to Skype with the seestor and waiting for Erin to pick me up to head over to Jenna's shower, hoping the kitteh comes to join me...

PS got an email about a callback on Mon!  STOKED!

The Guarantee

tee: Rubbish from Nordstrom, tank: Costco, sweater: Express, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, boots: MIA from The Rack, accessories: gifted rings, Relic watch, Charlotte Russe necklace, teal drop earrings
I got the day off today to relax, catch up on sleep and work on my audition sides for tomorrow night's Midsummer audition... And the cat was connected at my hip all day.

He is being a little weirdo.  I think dealing with another person in the apartment is making him a little bit needy. It's actually pretty amusing. Although I think he could back off a little. Be his little independent self again (dependency isn't sexy...).

I'm now getting ready to head back toward Magnuson for another night of rehearsal.  We start adding staging tonight! And I need to start memorizing my lines...

Fri May 13 1:34am

I’ve now tried to write this post three separate times, but since Blogger is being buggy, I am gonna just do the next best thing: write it in word to post online later.  Blearg. Seriously, I never realized how addicted I was to this blogging thing until I really wanted to post something and it started to actively thwart my attempts.   Boo on you, Blogger, you know better.

Anyways, I spent today busy, busy, busy.  Yoga’d this morning and super enjoyed the sun! Then back to la mama’s to finalize Lindy’s going away party plans, shower, pack and clean up from being there for 3.5 days (I made a bit of a mess…).  And in the packing, I realized that I have waaaaaaay more items than bags for said items to live in. Luckily since the fah-zha was picking up la mama and the seestor from the aeropuerto, I got a ride home!  Huzzah!

Then, despite numerous attempts at distraction by the fat one, I was able to unpack and reorganize my room before heading to El Gallo.  I will write more on this show later, but generally: WOW!  Anyone who is or has ever been involved in any performance aspect will relate to the story that Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes is telling here.  And all in a made up language!  So much love for this show! Seriously, see it!

After that I headed to the Hula to celebrate a friend’s bday and was encouraged to come back and sing by the staff (success!), had randoms asking my friends if I was single (awkward) and generally, having a kick-ass time singing fun (slow) songs.  Thank you Jewel and Alanis for giving me my Thursday night karaoke inspiration!

Tomorrow is a big day with the wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and Lindy’s going away party!  I need my beauty sleep, thank you very much!

PS Hipster glasses are a winner!

New: Bedding

New Bedding!
Meant to include this in the last post!  It's my new bedspread and pillows!  Yay!  New things.

PS I already came home and found the kitteh blissed out on the new comforter and last night's sleep was AWESOME!  It has 2 big fans!

The Sunny Side of Life

tank: Nike from The Rack, leggings: H&M, zip up: Empire gifted, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW, accessories: mini heart necklace gifted
Well, the big news is that the little rabbit leaves today... sad panda.  I almost feel like giving Carolyn the old bait & switch and keeping of cute tailess one and giving her the fatty (seriously, he's been acting like SUCH a cranky old man lately...dislike), but knowing Tybs he will become all loving and wonderful the second Frannie is outta the picture, so maybe I speak too soon.

Tomorrow I have a loverly little photo shoot/video promo I get to do with John (who's playing Mack) and I am supes excited.  I know that it's probs because I am the only girl with the correct hair, but still it's me which is awesome!

Booked it over to yoga tonight post-rehearsal and I swear to you, there is something about relaxing/meditating in yoga that is the most rejuvenating thing ever (haven't been for almost a week and I've felt tense and stressy beforehand and now?  ...ah...).  You would think since my schedule is a little more open I'd be able to get yoga in more often, but unfortunately, my gym holds classes at 6:30am (no effing way), noon (in rehearsal) and 5:30 or 5:45PM (also in rehearsal), so I am trying to get in in when I can...

Reprieved

tee: UW, tank: Costco, sweater: Express, jeans: Levi's, boots: (borrowed) Enzo Angiolini (from Lindy)
Sorta cannot believe I haven't been able to get home since Wednesday night... At least Jess has been giving the kittehs some luvin'.  I have had to borrow some things from the seestor in order to get me through the week (GAH!  Same hat & scarf since Thurs--that's just wrong)...

And, of course, tomorrow I am called at 10, since life always works out that way... All this means is that I have to get home by 9:15 at the latest, meaning I have to leave around 8... blearg.

So ready for a Monday off... I am exhausted.

Cut Like a Buffalo

top: H&M, sweater: Express, jeans: current/elliot from Nordstrom, flats: (borrowed) MIA's (from Lindy), accessories:  (borrowed) small beaded necklace, black & white & silver bracelets (from Lindy)
Gah!  Today was sooo frustrating.  We were doing a ton of group work and I was called and onstage almost the whole time and it just felt like I didn't know what I was doing.  Hard days... but they come with the territory...

Also, managed to RE-rip these pants in the last hour of rehearsal (awesome!) after I JUST got them back from the repair shop yesterday... Also, it's been hard because I haven't been able to check on the kittehs since I left Wednesday night... I just hope all is well.

Plus, it is NASTY outside.  Rainy and cold and windy.  MAJOR dislike.  Also, check out what was going on last night in mama's bed:

kitteh plus pupper equals cutness!

Starting Out

tank: Costco, tunic: Free People from Nordstrom, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: MIA from Nordstrom Rack, accessories: small beaded bracelet wrapped as necklace, purple beaded bracelets
Act II run/work through today before I head over to la mama's for housesitting. Definitely hoping that the kittehs are OK.  Gonna leave my fat one out with the rabbit and just hope that they can get along alright.  Last night there was a little tussle (I think over the foodzies in the hall closet and oh fatty having no food in his bowl in my room), which of course, woke me up and made me have to separate the two...

Oh god, kittehs... just get along for the next few days...

I kept waking up in the night singing my song and freaking out a bit about the new key and memorizing it and I blame the kittehs... blearg.

OK, onward and upward...

Short & Sweet

tee: In Love by 2AM from Urban, tank: Costco, sweater: Halogen from Nordstrom, jeans: BDG from Urban, flats: Target, accessories: shell bracelet gifted, mini-heart necklace
Well, since we were running/working Act 1 today, my call was all of two hours (glorious!), allowing me to clean the apartment and prepare for being gone for four and a half days... Come on kittehs, please get along and be fine on your own for a bit-sy (I believe in you!).

Yoga is tonight (although, does it make me a giant nerd that I am seriously considering skipping it to watch Obama's State of the Union? Yes, OK, I thought so...) and since I am done with rehearsal so early the plan consists of stopping by the library to drop off old & pick up new CDs before heading over there...

Someday...

tank: Kimchi Blue from Urban, blouse: Gibson from Nordstrm, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW,  accessories: thirfted pearls
Ran a ton of errands today getting as much done as I could on my day off before heading to dinner with the mama & seestor at Mediterranean Kitchen (garlic will be seeping from my pores for weeks) and then to High 5 Pies for dessert--w00t, w00t!

Lovely day off.  Tomorrow I jump back into the world of Threepenny glad to have had some time off and knowing that I need to clean my apartment, etc before I head over to la mama's for the week to house sit (starting Wed and going through Sun), hopefully the kittehs will do alright on their own... I got new litter and foodz for them, so they should be OK, assuming oh fat one does not eat all of the little rabbits' food (which he very well might do...), but I have high hopes for the two of them.  And also look forward to finding a lovely place for my tripod and camera at la mama's. It's always nice to give the blog a change of scenery. Plus cable (FOOD NETWORK!) and a pupper! (Come keep me company peeps!)

Memorizing lines and hopefully, getting the new key for my song is on the docket this week (as we open in 3 weeks--say WHA?!)...

Faux Snow

tee: Pitaya, sweater: gifted Rubbish from Nordstrom, leggings: H&M, boots: Tommy Hilfiger from DSW, wellie liners:  gited Steve Madden, accessories: tribal earrings, mini-heart necklace gifted
Well, it might have come down last night, but it was mostly gone this morning.  Seattle Public Schools and Cesari shared a "two-hour late start" this morning and I came to work at 10 (late start on my last Wed?  Yes., please!) and we got a pizza lunch and cake!  And it super does not feel like Wed.  Kinda slow and boring and a lovely foil to yesterday's pure insanity.

Plus, I made some KICK ASS chicken soup last night.  Chicken broth, veggies that needed to be eaten (peppers, spinach, onion), lotsa spices and rice.  Soooo yummy.  10 points, Gina.  And I'm gonna be able to eat its leftovers for at least the rest of the week.  Of course, downside to living with a vegetarian is that I can make something amazing and awesome like this soup and I cannot share... Oh wells...

Also, I feel remiss that I have not given credit to my roommate's Xmas gift for helping me take the last few days pictures.  She got me a tripod.  Yup, that's right.  No more art installation of Harry Potter books serving as my photo area.  I now have a genuine camera area!  Thanks, roomie.  It's pretty damn awesome!

No plans tonight apart from kitteh time and eating more of my awesome soup.  And speaking of kittehs, I haven't updated you all on kitteh watch (2010? 2011?) in a while. So, somehow the rabbit managed to jump on the TOP shelf in my closet (knocking all the clothes off, naturally) last night.  No idea how she got up there, but came into my room and heard a "mew" coming from somewhere other than under the bed and I peeked in the closet and there she was sitting on top of the lone sweatshirt she had not knocked over in her effort. Mostly, I was a amused.  And impressed.  They seem to be getting on better and better (YAY!), so I have high hopes for sharing a bed with both of them one night!  Rock it.

...2 days...

It's a New Year

louse: gifted, tank:  Costco, jeans: BDG for Urban, boots: Steve Madden, accessories:  gifted bejeweled bracelet, ring from Nordstrom, thrifted pearl necklace, pearl drop earrings
So, part of my New Year's resolutions are to save money and that includes on public transportation, so that part of my resolution means that I am going to be walking more.  Good thing too for those days I am not at all inclined to workout.  Should all end up evening out.  But today was FREEZING and my walk felt extra super long.  (BONUS of walking: I can make up the time if I am late by picking up the pace!  It's a win-win!)

New Year's Eve was fun!  The two girls who were Playboy Bunnies on the second night of the first Mad Men party were the go-go dancers on NYE so I actually knew people too!  That was an unexpected and exciting. Also because they are both awesome.  So, I made some money (plus a tip--w00t!) and hungout with fun people and got to be Joan again.  Awesome!

Both New Year's Day and yesterday (day after New Year's Day?) I gloriously did very little.  Went over to the mama's and had black eyed peas and cornbread (for good luck) and hung out and watched movies and picked up my new Bose ipod/computer speakers (which are AMAZING!  Seriously!  They make movies sound incredible) and yesterday I legit did nothing all day.  Hungout with the cat(z) and watched (a ridic amount of) movies.  Lazy vacation FTW!

I have to admit part of me is incredibly happy to be back at work and in the general swing of things, but the other part wants to still be home in my comfy warm bed... I only have 2 more weeks, though, so... Can't REALLY complain (and only 2 more days before I start training...yesh...)

Happy Holiday Bowl!

tee: Husky Holiday Bowl gifted, sweater: Rubbish from Nordstrom gifted (thanks seestor!), pants: jolt from Nordstrom, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW, accessories: purple bracelets, mirror earrings
Half day at work today!  Then stopping by the UW to pick something up from housing.  Then Dani's for Holiday Bowl goodness (on her new TV)!  And tomorrow... sweet glorious nothing (but helping mama set up her new TV and getting my new Bose stereo system--w00t!) until I go be Joan for a few hours.  I had a dream last night that I showed up to the party as Joan, and everyone left.  It was sad. But not real, so that's good.  Plus, it made the party get over around, like, 3pm so I was able to join Dani & friends for NYE in Sumner.  Oh, brain, you are hilarious sometimes...

Last night Mikaela, Dani & I went to see True Grit and... seriously, SO GOOD! Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Maddie, was ridic good.  Standing on par with Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges and Josh Brolin as a 14-year-old.  Disgustingly perfectly cast.  What surprised all three of us was how small Josh Brolin's part actually was though.  He is mentioned/talked about throughout the movie, but his actual screentime is very limited.  Kinda cool to be such a huge presence in the story without actually being there all that much. And god, I heart Jeff Bridges (Hey, and PS who hates him?  I KNOW I had this convo with someone recently.  Because seriously, you are so wrong. He is brillz).  Swear to you, you could only understand about half of what he said (you're gonna want the subtitles on for this one, mama), but it totes worked with the character.  My only complaint is that the last 10 minutes really seemed to belong to a different movie.  It seemed weird and long and totally unnecessary.  Don't get me wrong, I loved that things got effed, that shizz went down, but it just seemed to turn the movie into something else entirely and really randomly... Other than that, totes good (dad, you will love it).  Definite recommendation.

Also, randomly, when I came home from the movie guess who was under my bed? Not my cat, oh no, HE was on the roomie's down blanket on the couch. The little rabbit mewed and peeked her little head out from under the bed and then proceeded to hangout in my room for a bit.  So whatevs, they are clearly getting accustomed to each other.  Just a little bit unexpected is all... but good for her.

World Weary

tunic: Michael Star from Nordstrom, sweater: Lux from Urban, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: Steve Madden, accessories: long feathered black metal earrings, long black beaded necklace, giant flower ring from Nordstrom
Again with the one picture judging the other.  Thoroughly amusing...

Last night was the master class and seriously, I should have picked a different song... Totes forgot how high "Stranger" is and tried to belt it and then overcompensated by flailing around... blearg.  I should have sang "Man"... Oh wells.  She def helped me.  Mostly, to remember to do my homework, which I often ignore after I have a song and a cut I like, and that singing a whole song every once in a while helps give the cut its full meaning. Should give me things to work on once I get back with Scott and also once I start dissecting my SUPER-story telling song in Threepenny.  I just should have been more prepared.

I totally forgot to talk about how utterly brilliant The King's Speech was, PS.  Lindy and I saw it on Sun and seriously it was GOOOD.  Colin Firth is completely heartbreaking and Geoffry Rush is brillz as always, but I was most impressed by Helena Bonham-Carter.  She was so understated and devoted to her husband overcoming his speech impediment and gaining confidence, not so he could become King, but so that he could be the man she knew he was.  Gorgeous.  Firth should totes take home the Oscar for this performance (better than A Single Man, although I hearted that movie too) and I hope that she will as well.

Cannot wait to see True Grit tomorrow with Dani.  I also need to fit in Rabbit Hole and I'd love to see The Fighter, Blue Valentine and 127 Hours too... Damn you, Oscar season!  Too many good movies to catch and not enough time to do it...

I am working though lunch today so that I can pop by home and pick up my package from the deli next door (oh yes, the ENTIRE series of The Wire--OBSESSED!), put the kittehs back in their separate rooms (Tybs REFUSED to stay in my room this morning), change and grab my yoga stuff before heading downtown.  Then to my mama's for dinner (extra foodz--YES!).

I learned an important thing about the kittehs last night (again when Tybs refused to be confined to my room when I had to leave for the master class), I think that while he is territorial it is not about space in the apartment, it is about ME.  They were totally fine when it was the two of them.  I came home and they were both out wandering around, but the second I was there, Tybs started getting aggressive when I paid Frannie any attention... poor girl. I need my roomie to give her some luvin'!  Roomie, come home!  Let Fran sleep with you!  She needs nighttime pets and my kitteh won't share me!

Bright White

tank: Costco, sweatshirt: gifted Lululemon, jeans: J Brand from RueLaLa, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW, accessories:  gifted silver mini-heart necklace, gifted green ring from Nordstrom
Wow do I not wanna be at work today.  The idea of a day to do nothing sounds soooo good and yet, here I am.  With barely anything to do.  Trying to kill time until 5pm...

I am excited that I am taking Shoshana Bean's Master Class in song interpretation tonight at the 5th.  I saw her play Elphaba in the Wicked tour a few years ago and she is FIERCE.  Should be good times.  Although a little bit nervous about preparing/singing 2 complete songs.  I honestly cannot remember the last time I had to do that. Without my music in front of me... Seriously.  Full songs and not audition cuts is in a category all its own.  Should be fun though.  I've narrowed down my options to "The Man That Got Away", "Stranger here Myself" and my alternate, "Maybe This Time" (less lyrics, but overdone). I think I'm doing OK.  Def scared the cat with my practicing last night... meh, he'll deal.

Speaking of, Kitteh Watch 2010 is reaching fever pitch.  Tybs is getting super territorial (might be because he's mostly stuck in my room all the time) and they are getting into altercations anytime she leaves the hall closet (ya know, like when she wants to eat or use her litter box).  They got into it twice last night and I think he scared her so badly one time that she peed.  In my ski boot.  AWESOME.  Luckily, I caught it right away and rinsed it out and everything.  All he's making me do is lock him in my room even more, so he is really only hurting himself.  Stupid cat.  It's not like I WANT to make him stay in my room all the time, but she needs to have her food/water/box available (and not pee on my ish again), so too bad for him.  Play nice or stay in my room.  Blearg.

3, 2, 1...SHOP!

tee: The Ballet Studio from American Apparel, poncho: H&M, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW, fedora: thrifted on Cap Hill, scarf: gifted
Last minute gift shopping and beer drinking and food making and gift wrapping commenced today.  And it was good.  I picked up some things for the kitteh(s) while Lindy shopped for me...

I even fit in a trip to my apt to check on those kittehs (they're both fine, thanks for asking) and grab a few things I left (camera and computer cord included) in my haste to pack and get out the door to meet mama yesterday.  I totes forgot I had to make Lindy and Mama's cds, so that took the place of the packing...

I also managed to get some great 3-girls time yesterday including a viewing of Toy Story 3 (GAH! SO CUTE!) with the seestor.  Win-win, I say...

Tonight the plan is foodzies with the fam and midnight mass.  And tomorrow gift exchange, brunch at my Aunt's and then family friend's house for late night Xmas funtimes. And Sunday?  I am hoping to fit in both The King's Speech with my fam and True Grit with Dani!  Let's go busy!

Christmas Eve Eve

tee: HBO Store, sweater: Cardigan NYC, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, boots:  Zigi Soho from DSW
Shopping yesterday was pretty funny.  Mom needed to shop for Lindy & me, but didn't want to do it last night. Lindy needed to shop for Mom & me, but Mom didn't want us to split up.  And I was all done with my shopping.  So, we ended up grabbing a drink/apps at Il Fornaio, meandering around Pac Place and into Nordstrom where mama got a cute new coat for Chicago and Lindy split off to pick up the gifty we'd picked out for mama and eventually meeting back in shoes, deciding we were done shopping and heading to Ruth's Chris for apps, salads and drinks in the bar. It was more 3-girls time than anything else.  And it was totally fun!

I get off work today at 1 and then have no plans.  I might help mama out with her shopping.  Or just hangout at home.  Or go to yoga.  But I am for sure spending the night at mama's and Lindy and I are gonna watch Toy Story 3 (finally came in Netflix--yay!!!!).  This whole Xmas season has been very different, so I am excited to see what Xmas Eve & day have in store...

Kitteh-watch 2010 update: Tybs seems to be getting territorial.  Low meowing and a face-off this morning.  Hissing from Fran from in the closet.  Fran retreated up on top of the suitcases.  Tybs retreated behind the blue chair. Left them both out in the open for the day.  Will assess damage at 13:30...
