In Your Vest Interest

tee: the ballet studio from American Apparel, vest: Nordstrom, jeans: H&M, shoes:  Tom's from Nordstrom, accessories: Relic watch, mini-heart gifted necklace
I wore this out to catch StrawShop's The Bells on Fri night. And then crash before my opener on Sat...

Super Sensitive

tee: The Ballet Studio from American Apparel, sweater: Express, jeans: BDG from Urban, belt: Uniqlo, shoes: Tom's from Nordstrom
I wore this out to my voice lesson and PT appointment on Tuesday.  Feel better (both vocally and physically), but seriously, the PT kicked my ASS. He found this SUPER weak muscle in my core and just made me work on it for about an hour. Yesh. Yesh. My ass still hurts...

Fly Away Home

tee: Threadless, jeans: H&M, flats: Asos, accessories: Relic watch, gifted rings, Charlotte Russe necklace, silver curve earrrings
Today is my day off and I am honestly not sure what I am going to do after I have my voice lesson in a little less than an hour.  I am gonna be in the U District, so I might just find a park and read, enjoying the sunshine, or I might hit the Metro and catch some movies.  I am bringing my ballet stuff just in case I end up hanging out down there for a long time...

I also called my Dad and am hoping maybe we can get together or something today?  It's really up in the air... In reality, I will probs to my voice lesson, do a little (window) shopping and then head home and hangout on my own if I don't hear anything from the fah-zha...

Very happy I don't have to be at work until 10 tomorrow... One more day of sleeping in before I try my hand at my first (of many, I am sure) opening shift...

Bacon-Flavored Life

tee: Rubbish from BP for Nordstrom, tank: Costco, sweater: Mod Cloth, scarf: gifted, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, shoes: LA Gear (scavenged from the dregs of Lindy's closet
So, I am pretty sure that these pants are officially dying.  Getting thin on the inner thigh on both sides... blearg.  Also dead: the Zigi Soho boots I wore yesterday (the right one has officially worn through the soles)... My next big splurge will be a pair of super-nice Frye boots about the same height as those ones that died, but 100% better quality.  That's the goal, at least.

Love, love, LOVED Merry Wives last night!  And, although, I wasn't necessarily prepared to, it was a more than welcome surprise.  Perfect casting, loverly style (super-traditional Shakespearion) and a really clean cut.  It was also the first time I saw that show onstage (marking another one off the list--yeah, that's right, Lonestar Love does NOT count). Definitely glad I threw that thing into my crazy-ass day.

I didn't get home (to la mama's, that is) until around 11 last night and the poor little Buggie was so in need of some luvin', so I gave her a pretty long walk and fed her and then passed OUT!  Looooong day.

Today, I apparently needed a good night's sleep because my alarm did not go off and I full on slept until 11am!  I only woke up because the Bug came into the room as in "LET'S GET UP AND GO!", so I did!  Took her on a ridic long walk and fed her and then hungout with her in the (furniture-less) TV room (Food Network--HELLO!) until the fah-zha picked me up and I helped him run some errands before heading back to the house and working on wedding prep with Jacki.  Another good day in a crazy times week.

Tomorrow, I am getting a haircut!  THANK THE GODS!  I need one soooo badly (look. at. the. bangs!). Gonna try to yoga beforehand and possibly ballet tomorrow night.  And then on Wednesday, I start work.  Yay! New job!

Here We Go Again

tank: kimchi blue from Urban, sweater: Parfait from Nordstrom, skirt: H&M, boots: Report Signature from Nordstrom,  belt: H&M, accessories: Relic watch, gifted rings
I had an interview today at Starbucks and should find out by Fri whether or not I have a second interview or what.  Really hoping I get a job soon, mostly because I am bored and broke.  Yikes.

Spent yesterday helping the seestor packing and organizing with the little lady bug and Pamelita.  It was nice to have something to do during the day and to know that I was helping her to get outta here (even though I don't want her to leave me...).  This week and next are kinda insane.

Tomorrow I'm gonna head to see THIS! at the Rep, Thurs I have tix to the baseball game (hoping I can find someone to go with me) and then FFOK and Fri hoping to celebrate la mama's bday and Lindy's leaving... Sat I have tix to O Lovely Glowworm and Sun is the Night Zero shoot.  Then next week is Jacki's wedding insanity.  Whew!  Hopefully I can fit getting & working a job somewhere in there...

I'm also gonna head to ballet again tonight. Getting back into the groove...

At the Ballet

tee: Ballet Studio from American Apparel, leotard: Capezio dance, skirt: Papaya, tights: American Apparel, flats: Asos
Thought I should include a pic of what I usually wear to ballet (or used to "usually"wear and now hopefully will again).  That's it.  It's cute and does everything I need it to.  Comfy, movable. slimming...

Ballet def kicked my ASS! I have forgotten so much.  Way more than I thought I would, but it's nice to be doing it again.  Hopefully, I'll be getting back in the swing of this for a long time!

Interview with a Barista

blouse: Love Squared from Nordstrom, sweater: Mod Cloth, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, flats: Asos, accessories: Charlotte Russe necklace, gifted shell bracelet, vintage pink earrings
Had my job interview at Uptown this afternoon and it went as well as I could hope for, I think!  The woman who interviewed me said she would let me know by the end of the week whether or not there is a position for me.  I'd love a job, but am a little concerned about both my availability (shops are open until 10pm) and also travel issues (you technically work at all eight locations, including the 2 in West Seattle), but I think I can resolve those and the environment seems really open and supportive! She actually said how happy she was that I have worked in so many different fields and that I had such a great passion in theatre.

I was supposed to grab lunch with the roomie post-interview, but she got the days confused (thought audition today, interview Fri not vice versa), so we just hugged and chatted for a quick minute and then I wandered around handing out my resume in lower QA (hit up four more places!).

Plans for tonight include ballet (say, WHAT?!) and thai food (major pad thai craving).  Ballet because, to be honest, putting on that Jackie O dress a few years after I last wore it, I realized that I no longer have the slim hips and thighs that I did when I was doing ballet all the time.  Not to say I'm not in shape (thanks to yoga!), but I think I need to mix it up a bit.  My upper body is much shaplier from the yoga, but I've lost that definition in my glutes and thighs that I had when I was ballet-ing all the damn time.  New goal: yoga three/four times a week mixed in with ballet once/twice a week.  I'm a little bummed that the teacher I heart so much is on maternity leave (she was sooo pregs when I saw her at FFOK in March), but I think that mixing it up with new teachers is also a good idea.

I plan to be super sore tomorrow (haven't been to ballet in months and months), but I have yoga morning plans and shopping in the afternoon plans (I WILL find some dress options for Pam!) and possibly hitting up a show tomorrow night?

Smile A Little

tee: Americal Apparel, tank: Costco, jeans: seethrusoul from BP Nordstrom, shoes: Sperry Top-Siders from Nordstrom, acessories: Charlotte Russe necklace, Relic watch
Made the job-searching rounds again today and have plans to do it again tomorrow!  Hoping for some good job luck this week although it helps that I received my tax refund, reimbursements from Dad and also a little refund from Chase all in the same day, plus a check from Blue Flame from when I worked CatchCon.  It's nice to have some monies again, despite the fact that it's really not that much.  It's really only inspired me to grab more job applications and hit the pavement once again...

Last night's shows at SPF were really fantastic!  It was great to see my friends rocking their solo shows soooo hard.  Plus since they both had so much music/singing in them they really inspired me for my own solo show (and encouraged me to get back to writing.  Haven't touched it since Panama... and really should!).  So much time too little to do--strike that, reverse it.

Plans for tomorrow include job-searching, grocery shopping, yoga, sun time (if it's sunny), dress shopping (for Pam & me), possibly seeing Merry Wives (or 9 to 5 depending on what the 5th can give me for exchange of our groupon coupon...) and then some FFOK to round off the night... Blearg, busy day!

Matinee Idol

tee: The Ballet Studio from American Apparel, vest: NEW H&M, tank: Costco, jeans: J Brans from Nordstrom, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW,  accessories: small beaded braclet
It's a little bit of a throw back to all my mid-90s outfits and I kinda heart it.  Heading to the matinee and then the party and then...3 glorious days off (to relax and recover--this show has taken it outta me...).

Here we go!

3, 2, 1...SHOP!

tee: The Ballet Studio from American Apparel, poncho: H&M, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW, fedora: thrifted on Cap Hill, scarf: gifted
Last minute gift shopping and beer drinking and food making and gift wrapping commenced today.  And it was good.  I picked up some things for the kitteh(s) while Lindy shopped for me...

I even fit in a trip to my apt to check on those kittehs (they're both fine, thanks for asking) and grab a few things I left (camera and computer cord included) in my haste to pack and get out the door to meet mama yesterday.  I totes forgot I had to make Lindy and Mama's cds, so that took the place of the packing...

I also managed to get some great 3-girls time yesterday including a viewing of Toy Story 3 (GAH! SO CUTE!) with the seestor.  Win-win, I say...

Tonight the plan is foodzies with the fam and midnight mass.  And tomorrow gift exchange, brunch at my Aunt's and then family friend's house for late night Xmas funtimes. And Sunday?  I am hoping to fit in both The King's Speech with my fam and True Grit with Dani!  Let's go busy!

Raindrops Falling on My Head

shirt: American Apparel for The Ballet Studio, shorts: H&M, tights: Urban, boots: Naughty Monkey from Nordstrom
Did the yoga thing this morning and then stopped by Stanfords for Kelsey's birthday lunch.  Fun times!  Then, since I was up at Northgate anyway, I went to DSW and got 2 new pairs of boots!  YAY!  I heart DSW and now that I have a new pair of wellies I can wear them tonight in the pouring down rain that started just after I got off the bus.  Lovely...

PS I think I'm gonna change before the show tonight.  This outfit is much less cute than I thought it was in my brain...

Hipstamatic

Well, this head cold certainly came on fast and furious! I was planning on going to ballet last night, but bailed because my nose wouldn't stop running. I figured a relaxing night and heading to bed early would be just what I needed to nip this thing. And yet, still stuffed this morning. I'll definitely be taking a lunch trip to QFC to get some 12-hour cold relief--blearg! I feel like I just got over that last crap! Thanks, body... just, thanks...

Tonight is the first show of our closing weekend at Volunteer Park and I am so sad to be leaving the forest of Arden... These last 6 weeks absolutely flew by and seriously, I could do this show forever. I am definitely gonna miss all the wonderful peeps... Man... now I'm all sad panda. I am really hoping that we all go out post-show tonight and do something after closing tomorrow afternoon. I really just wanna milk all the time with my Ardenites that I can!

For our return to the Hill, I am rocking a super-hipster look: olive ruffle-front Zara tunic with my Aprie straw hat, Sperry Top-Siders from Nordys and gold chain from a boutique in the UD. I am also wearing my giant black cocktail ring, gifted bejeweled bracelet and black H&M military jacket (for if it gets cooler tonight). Excited to head back up the Hill & into the forests of Arden!

Electric Feel

Whew! I fell asleep quickly and slept through the night and awoke (mostly) refreshed! Three cheers for a full night's sleep! (Thank GOD!)

Roomie and I met for a drink and then went to see Ruined last night. And ran into Nicole & Kate from As You! What a wonderful surprise! I love seeing my As You peeps outside of the requisite show times... makes my soul rejoice...

I really liked the show, too. It was definitely dark and intense, but the story was strong and Lynn Nottage did a great job of writing both strong and vulnerably flawed female characters. Plus, I love that they are bringing the show down to South Africa. The one thing that really bothered me (besides the length--I mean, come on, 2.5 hours?! Really?! I am totes fine with 2h 10m or 2h 15m, but for some reason that last quarter hour is AWFUL to me... blearg. Any way, back to the one thing that bothered me...) and it is probably the Brechtian in me, but I REALLY wanted the 2 commanding generals (gov't v rebels) to be played by the same person! I feel like that could have added this great layer to the show. I kept thinking they couldn't do that because there must be a confrontation scene, BUT THERE WASN'T! There would only be 1 relatively quick change also! And I think making the escalating evil on both sides have the same face would have been a great statement in the show as a whole... but whatevs...

Tonight I am planning on heading out to ballet for the first time in many, many months and I'm very excited about it! Gonna try to get back to it especially once my Annex show opens (shows only on Fri & Sat). Split my time b/t ballet and yoga because I definitely saw a difference in my dancing auditions without the consistent dancing each week...

I also went grocery shopping yesterday before the show and seriously, I needed to... Luckily, I now have teh foodz. Unfortunately, I STILL forgot to buy coffee! WTF?! It's been an entire week without it... No good...

Today I am wearing my grey & white pinstriped Fossil seersucker pants, Sperry Top-Siders & royal blue Bellatrix beaded tank both from Nordys and my Mod Cloth grey lace top 3/4 length sleeve sweater. Accessorizing with my cream coral bracelet from Hawaii and my giant gold hoops. PS what you can't see in that picture on the left is the cat rubbing against my ankles and making me laugh RIGHT as the camera was taking the picture... meh, what can you do?
