In a Flash

blouse: Express, sweater: H&M, jeans: BDG from Urban, belt: Kenneth Cole Reaction from The Rack, shoes: Tom's from Nordstrom, accessories: Relic watch, gifted rings, Charlotte Russe necklace
I wore this out on Saturday night to catch the show at OtB. It was awesome. Very happy to be able to see it and for freezies! Definitely inspiring for the eventual one-woman show I will (eventually) write (and soon!)

Send It All Away

tee: Fluxus from Nordstrom, sweater: Fossil, leggings: Forever 21, socks: American Apparel, boots: Frye from Nordstrom, accessories: Express necklace, Relic watch, gold oblong earrings, Dior lipstick
I wore this to the naked lady clothing swap with some friends. Got rid of almost two bags full of clothing and only picked up a purseful! Yay! Mostly got sweaters and such. Totally great party idea.

Then I went to see Rabih Mroure at OtB and grab some drinkles afterwards with Jess and Aine. Fun times and a great show.

Listen to Me

tee: Bitten by SJP, sweatshirt: Lululemon, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, shoes: converse
I wore this out to meet Dani for a late lunch after my audition and then we saw Hugo! So good! seriously, everyone should see it. The movie was super long, so I went straight to OtB for zoe/juniper right afterwards. It was great!

Come Along, Pond

tee: Express, skirt: thrifted abercrombie & fitch, leggings: Forever 21, boots: New Frye from Nordstrom, accessories: Relic watch, gifted rings, tribal earrings, gifted crest necklace
I call this my Amelia Pond look and I kinda heart it.  Of course, if I was really Amy I'd be running around London (or wherever... or whenever...) without the leggings.  But I am not.  And Fall has returned to Seattle with a vengeance (the WIND), so I will be bundling up to head over to catch OtB's opening show (solo... despite solid efforts to find someone to wander the insanity with me) and hang out with the Roomie.

Yay!

Look to Your Left

blouse: Old Navy, skirt: H&M, leggings: Forever 21, shoes: Tom's from Nordstrom, accessories: Relic watch, gifted crest necklace, Cost Plus leaf earrings
Worn to this morning's opening and then to drinks/late lunch with a co-worker.  Yay!  All caught up!  Tonight I have SuttonBeresCuller at OtB (first show of the season) and tomorrow I open, rush home to hear the end of the Husky game/get ready to head over to Washington Hall to perform at Annex's 25th Anniversary Gala (think I'm gonna rock the Joan dress) where I will be singing a snipet of "And I Will Always Love You" (I've been practicing!) and then Sunday I have the day off work and rehearsal at Annex from 12-430 with no work until 9am the next day--w00t! Long weekend, but it should be good.

The New Black

turtleneck: H&M, tank: Costco, trousers: Express, flats: Linea Paolo from Nordstrom, accessories: Charlotte Russe necklace, Relic watch
Today was my first day at my new job!  I had what they call a "first impression" which is basically where I filled out a ton of paperwork, got a general overview of how sb's and this store in particular work and finalized my training sked (not starting until Mon, so this weekend is all wedding all the time--w00t!).  Excited to finally have a job and to know that I will mostly be opening the store (yes, folks, that's at 430am...), so that I will have most afternoons and evenings off to run errands, rehearse, audition and/or NAP. Done and done.

For the rest of the day I wandered around in the ridic RAIN shopping for blacks that I can wear to work I think I got 4 new items that should work (yay clothes, boo only black), including 2 tops with rounded peter pan collars.  I just wish I could have bought anything with color... sooooo hard, especially with all the summer collections starting to sprinkle out...

Then I headed to yoga and back to give Lady a nice long walk (again in the rain).  Seriously, yesterday was soooo beautiful and today was like back to winter.  And which day did I have to run a number of errands without my hat?  Today.  And which day did Lady want to take a stop-and-smell-every-little-stupid-bush walk?  Well, let's be honest, that's everyday, but it seemed worse today!

Tomorrow I yoga, pack my schtuff and head to OtB with Ali to catch the new show, El Gallo!  I am super excited to see this crazy thing!

You Can Call Me Flower, If You Like

dress: Banana Republic, sweater: thrifted, flats: Asos, accessories: Relic watch, gifted mini-heart necklace, gifted rings, long dangly earrings
About to head out to Jacki's wedding rehearsal this afternoon... Then the rehearsal dinner followed by Lindy's Going Away Party & Limo EXTRAVAGANZA! tonight (to be known henceforth as LGAP&LE!).

So happy I got to yoga today (and got everything else in the world done as well--successful morning FTW!) because it kicked me in the butt about 10 times.  We did a little yoga-lates and lemme tell you yogalates schmogalates.  They should call that thing kills-your-abs-a-lot-es because for cereal they are already crying, so tomorrow?  Yesh.  I'm gonna be useless.  My abs were so sore by the end of class that I could barely sit up.  It was bad, but a good bad...

Last night I caught El Gallo at OtB and I promised a review, so here's a link to my blog posting on the OtB blog.  Read if you would like!

Tomorrow is the family pizza meet-and-greet at D&P's and then Sunday is the wedding!  And Monday is my first day of work (and Lindy's first day of school--LE BOOOOOOOOOO! I'm getting teary just thinking about it...).  Busy and important next few days... HIT IT!

Same Dress, Different Day

dress: Gap, tank: Costco, tights: gifted, shoes: BP from Nordstrom, belt: Vintage, accessories: Enerjewels necklace, large red beaded bracelet, Marc Jacobs watch
Well, two auditions down today and one left... Whew!  My three auditions in one day Monday schedule is getting tiring... I ended up skipping the OtB show last night because of $$... blearg.  Thank god for the craziness of auditions, seriously, because otherwise this unemployed girl would be getting BORED.

The two this morning went well enough.  Always hard to tell, especially with generals.  I mean, I did what I did, but it always depends on what the season holds...  One more tonight. And in the in between Dani and I are gonna go tanning to get some base color before heading South (for the winter) and dear god do I need it.  Otherwise, seriously, I will be bright red the whole time.

Leave in 6 days!

Total Recall

tank: kimchi blue from Urban, sweater: Fossil, leggings: H&M, boots: Zigi Soho from DSW, accessories: Marc Jacobs watch
Saw Dani's show last night and trust me, the girl knows how to direct.  For realzies... It was pretty damn arresting.

Lost an hour this morning, which SUCKED!  Hungout with the seestor for her birthday last night and it was really fun, but totally stressy because they wouldn't let Dani, Nathaniel, Jenna and her friend up because we got there at 11:01 (they stopped giving out the "key stamps"--to get up to the loft when Lin was having her party--at 11).  Blearg!  But after that it was funtimes!  Made friends with Lindy's friends and hungout and danced. And then, of course, we couldn't get a cab home... AND we lost an hour. Worst. Timing. Ever.  Oh wells...

Seestor-face spent the night at my place and then we grabbed brunchy with mama before I headed to my callback (which went SUPES good--yayzers!).  Now I'm hanging out for a bit and then heading to OtB tonight for a show.

Also: I leave for Orlando in 7 days!  w00t!!!

Sensational

tee: Fossil, button-up: Papaya, jeans: J Brand from Nordstrom, shoes: Sperry Top-Siders from Nordstrom, accessories: red beaded bracelet, gifted min-heart necklace
We had the video/photo shoot for Threepenny today (which will be posted as soon as I have it).  And the outside shots were effing FREEZING!

And then tonight I went over to OtB with Jess to catch Paul (my Lear director's) solo show (awesome!!!) and grab a drink with the OtB-ers post-show.

The show is getting down to the wire... nervous, excited and really just loving where I am in my life right now.

It's the Final Countdown!

tee: thrifted, sweater: Halogen from Nordstrom, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: MIA from Nordstrom Rack, Accessories: neon orange 80's earrings
na-na-na-na! na-na-na-na-na!

Yes, yes it is.  The day has finally come when I am saying goodbye to everyone at my salaried, benefitted day job to go do a (less than) 2 month gig within my actual career field. And then...? Well, it will be an adventure and something new and different and exactly what I need right now.

I have 4 days before we start rehearsals for Threepenny and that time will be full of plays (14/48 tonight), yoga (tomorrow morning), football (Sun morning), the Golden Globes (Sun night), auditioning (Monday evening), movies (Mon night?), friends (um, always?) and family (ditto).  Busy time and... GO!

Last night I got to see Aine again for the first time in...um... I honestly don't know... years, for sure.  And a new show at OtB that had dancing! A rock band! Sur titles! Full frontal male nudity!  A totally random video montage at the end! A hot man-on-man makeout sesh! And one of the coolest strobe light dance sequences ever! WIN! Then, Jess, Anna & I went out dancing! At a gay bar! On 80's night! With the cast!  Waaaaaaay too little sleep, but it was funtimes and totes worth it. PLUS, who cares, it's my...

Vintage Inspired

blazer: gifted vintage Dior, tee: Kimchi Blue from Urban, skirt: H&M, tights: American Apparel, boots:  Chinese Laundry, accessories: long black beaded necklace, giant flower ring from Nordstrom, black & silver beaded bracelets
With the temperatures heating up outside (OK, in the 50's, but at least it can't snow, right?), I decided to break out a non-coat outfit (hello, blazer serves as a coat/jacket).  Plus I'm heading out to OtB tonight to catch a show with Aine & Jess so I wanted to look cute, but still be comfy (I am a walker after all).  I really love how the blue stripe on my tights matches the blue houndstooth in the blazer!

Last night was deliciously low key and exactly what I needed since plans for tonight will probably end up raucous (judging by the stories Jess has told me about the Poles...yesh).  So yay for seeing old friends!  Yay for seeing fun new theatre! Yay for hanging out with international casts! Yay for...

Color & Patterns

tee: Banana Republic, sweater: Halogen from Nordstrom, jeans: BDG from Urban, boots: MIA from Nordstrom Rack
I seriously feel like I have been running on empty this entire week and it's not like it's slowing down anytime soon.  PLUS, I just heard that my debit card may have been compromised and now have to pay stupid cash until the stupid bank gets around to sending me another stupid card (wow, what great timing you piece of shit who stole my card number.  It's not like I have plans or Christmas gifts to buy or anything like that.  Wow.  Awesome).  Blearg.  I don't even know how they got my card numbers since it's not like I was buying shizz on Cap Hill that weekend.  Plus, I'd almost memorized the numbers... Boo!

And I totally skipped the play last night.  I decided time at home relaxing with the cat was more important and now I am super glad I went that direction.  It's not like I'm sleeping well either... Insomnia = no fun

Today, I literally dunno how I'm gonna get from the U District to OtB quick enough to make it to Dayna Hansen ontime.  I am just hoping they hold and the roomie saves me a seat.  And then, afterwards, I am going home.  I'm not going to FFOK (that I've missed the last 2 times, making this the 3rd in a row), going to Keeley's going away party/last concert in Seattle (major BOO) or even hitting up Jenn's bday party because I am going home to sleep.  Seriously.  I am that tired.  Plus a little in awe that it's already Thurs.  And I have so many plans this weekend it actually hurts.

The plan tonight was to hit up Red Light before my massage to see if I can find something Joan-ish and then go to scarecrow to rent the first season of Mad Men so that I can actually be Joan and not feel like an impostor who knows nothing about the show, but of course now that I have no debit card it makes everything harder...  Plus, I need to eat something in there... Dammit.  Like I need more stupid things to deal with right now...

Brown Eyed Girl

sweater: Pitaya, skirt: H&M, boots:  Report Signature from Nordstrom, tights: American Apparel
So, I've been feeling a little scuzzy over the last couple weeks when I realized that I haven't worn a skirt or a dress in a super long time and I decided to buck the trend and wear one today.  Super heart this brown-toned outfit!  Simple, comfy, warm, but still cute and chic.

This week is literally insane and I swear to you, it is only becoming busier. Today is the only night this week where I do not have to be anywhere and most nights I am trying to fit in at least 2 things after work.  It is literally going to kill me. Tonight I might go to yoga (it was the plan, I have the bag...but my week is getting unbearable, so I might need a night off) and tomorrow I have yoga before hitting up Dancing at Laughnasa at the Rep, Thurs I have a massage and then booking it to OtB's opening of Dayna Hansen's show, Fri is happy hour with a friend before the mama & seestor show up and we grab foodzies & drinkles before HAIR at the Paramount.  Then Sat I am gonna see a friend'd play at 2pm and go to a stocking stuffer party that night and Sun is shooting for Night Zero & maybe Daddy Natty's... Um, yeah...

Yesterday was the day of random awesomeness.  First I got the email about coming out and shooting a bit part in Night Zero, a zombie post-apocalypse web series, that I had mentioned to the creator I'd be interested in working on at some point.  So, I'm making it work with my schedule!  Cause, come on!  Fun times!

THEN, later in the day I got a call from a friend of a friend about playing Joan Halloway from Mad Men at a couple of theme parties next weekend.  AND getting paid!  I am making it work with my Orcas schedule with the fa-zha so that I can be SURE to do this because, honestly?  HOW FUN IS THAT?!  AND it will seriously be my Christmas funds right there in 2 nights' work!  ACTING!

PS Stop it, Seattle!  I see what you are doing, but it will NOT keep me here!  You, saucy minx, you.  Getting me awesome shows and awesome random gigs that pay, but I see through it!  I will not fall into your trap of "well, maybe just one more year" as I have the last 2 (3? 6?)!  I will be strong!  I am moving this time!  No false promises!  It will happen! (I still love you though, Seattle.  You will always have a place in my heart.  It's not you, it's me.)

Long Days Journey(s) Into Night(s)

turtleneck: H&M, trousers: Express, vest: Nordstrom, shoes: Dansko from Nordstrom, accessory: Express tiered silver necklace
So, the BIG news is that I had a phenomenal callback for Threepenny @ Shakes earlier today and I feel really good about it!  I love it when the director greets you with "I'm so glad you could come back and do this!" (like you're doing THEM a favor) and the casting director says "it would be a travesty if you weren't here".  I honestly feel that if I don't get cast it's all about type, not talent, and I LOVE that feeling! (I  love it more if I get cast, but it's always nice to feel confident about a callback no matter what the outcome!)

Also, yeah, so over six hours of theatre yesterday... And the two shows could NOT have been more different.  Mauritius was a modern, fast-talking, fast-paced show about the lengths people go to get what they want and OtB's Faith Triptych was a remounting of three seminal works by the local choreographer, Pat Graney, from 1991, 1995 & 2001.  All three examining large ideas (Faith, Sleep & Tattoo respectively) and all with female dancers with a strong emphasis on the female body. But yeah... it was a looooong day.

If I could do nothing tonight I would probably be fine, but I had the callback this morning and tonight are the TPS Gregory Awards (local theatre awards in Seattle and a brilliant time to get dressed up and mingle with other theatre-folk).  Plus TONS of my friends are nominated!  So there will be rushing home and changing into a fancy dress & heels & possibly my fur & grabbing a drink with the roomie (who, I kid you not, I have not seen for more than 10 minutes in over 2 weeks--much needed roomie date!) & cheering on my friends who are nom'd (GO CONTEMP CLASSICS)!  No rest for the wicked, right?

Don't Rain on My Parade

tee: Hollister, tank: Costco, pants: Jolt from Nordstrom, boots: Steve Madden
Love days when everything lines up perfectly.  I might have been raining like crazy all day, but I still got to catch a fantastic closing matinee of Mauritius this afternoon and get to see Pat Graney's closing tonight at OtB.

I also was able to stop by the grocery store on my way home and you know how sometimes everything you want or need to get is on sale?  Yup, totes one of those days and they are the best!

I'm not even bummed about going to work tomorrow because I get to go to the Gregory Awards tomorrow night and get all dressed up!  And then? No more plans until Thurs night pick up rehearsal since we have all these cuts and stuff from Rachel trying to clean up the first act.

Red Robin

top: BCBG Maxazaria from Nordstrom, jeans: j brand from Nordstrom, boots: Chinese Laundry,  Accessory: silver Express cuff
Fri was full of crazy insane theatre.  Christian Rizzo was insane.  It was perhaps the most uncomfortable hour I have ever spent watching something onstage.  And I loved it.  There is no way for me to put into words what the show was about because it is completely unexplainable.  I mean, I almost cried 3 or 4 times and the show was only an hour long.  One hour!  Then I went out with the OtB-ers and Rizzo and talked about the show and it was loverly...

Yesterday was my marathon day.  Started with yoga, then whooshing over to Cider House pt 1, home for dinner and Cider House pt 2.  Then over to Kate's to celebrate her birthday.  Hearts to a crazy loverly day!  Both Cider Houses were great and everyone was ridiculously talented.  Seriously.  The cast was 24 people and it was STRONG.  Everyone held their own and really rocked it.  For six hours of theatre, they managed to keep me firmly engaged for the whole time.

Today I was able to watch some movies and relax and am heading to meet Sara (and possibly Carolyn) for date drinksies before going to God of Carnage at the Rep.  Excited!  Should be really good.

Next week starts the work things/run thru dance pre-tech.  We have our 2 ten-of-twelves on Sat & Sun followed by tech week and opening!  Rockin' it!

Horse of a Different Color

shirt: H&M, vest: WOW Couture from Mod Cloth, jeans: bdg for Urban, shoes: Linea Paolo from Nordstrom, Accessories: black & silver bracelets, long black beaded necklace, metal feathered earrings, giant black cocktail ring
I feel like since I completely forgot to wear any accessories yesterday, I am kind of overcompensating today, but I'm OK with it.  They all work, so it's a good thing. What you kinda can't see is that the vest is totally sequined!  I heart it!  Despite the fact that it scratches the shizz outta my arms... I still heart it!

Badminton Royale was completely and utterly ridiculous.  And come on!  Mirror Pond for $1?  Loves it!  The costumes and team spirit and cheers?  So funny!  Glad I went.  Also, glad they decided to move it all inside... that could have been miserable, even though the weather did clear up around 4...  But definitely fun times.  And nice to see a TON of people I haven't in a long while... le sigh.  It all begins again.

I still have plans to see a show tonight... I just don't know which one yet... Def leaning toward Doctor In Spite of Himself, but it depends on if they give a TPS discount and if they have any tickets left (it IS a Fri night, after all...) and they've been getting great reviews (minus the Stranger).  Who knows though, if that doesn't work out I might just curl up with Catching Fire or Freaks & Geeks and do nothing... THAT also sounds loverly.

Saturday I have le yoga, then rehearsal, then... another plannless evening.  Maybe another show?  I have to kill time and keep myself awake because Patrick & I have plans to hangout after Glass Menagerie gets out that night (I'd go see that, but Sara and I already made plans to see it once her show closes)!  HOORAY! I misses my lover from the summer!

Also, after hearing how cute yesterday's pants were from multiple people, I no longer think I resembled either a sausage or Jessica Simpson.  Thanks for the ego boost, peeps!

Fallin' Slowly

shirt: Papaya, tank: Costco, jeans: bdg for Urban, boots: MIA from Nordstrom Rack, accessory:  jeweled bracelet
First day of off-book rehearsal went surprisingly well (with all of my 6 or 7 lines, but STILL!) although I am a little nervous for tonight since we're doing scenes we haven't worked yet, and, well, it's hard to be off book for something you don't have in your body yet.  At least, it is for me... I have high hopes though.  The show is so well-written (thanks, Rachel!) that it's pretty easy to memorize.  Plus, these are some FUN scenes!

Another funny thing, we rehearsed at SCT yesterday and there was totes evidence that someone had been practicing for OtB's Badminton Royale in our rehearsal room!  There was a net, a print out of a regulation badminton court and 4 rackets.  I was amused.  People are really taking this thing seriously this year!  I just hope the weather cooperates because I'm not sure if I can motivate myself to go and cheer in the rain...

I did end up at yoga last night and was supes excited I ended up going.  I am plenty sore today, but all in a good way.  Plus now I can go do whatevs I want tomorrow and not feel guilty.  w00t!  I def got to yoga RIGHT at a SUPER good part in my book though, so I almost skipped it to sit somewhere and read, but I sucked it up and went to yoga knowing that my reward would be some french fries from Dicks before rehearsal (worth it!) and I got them.  And they were good (been craving some since mama wouldn't let me get any when we stopped at DQ on the way home from Walla Walla...)!

PS I wanted to correct the title of the second Hunger Games book I talked about in the last post (already fixed it there).  It is actually called Catching Fire.  I am stupid and didn't check... So, for future reference now you know.

Also, just to let everyone know, I am doing a little experiment with my (long-ass) bangs.  I am going to see how long I can let them grow before SNAPPING and cutting them all off... We'll call this Day 1.  Plus, today is the first official day of fall, so it seems fitting somehow...
