Shrinking Universe

I wore this to tech yesterday and then straight on to the Sounders game.  Since la mama had a migraine (pobrecita, I heart you!), I last minute wrangled Dani outta her pj's and into braving traffic and the  everything to grab me and snag a FABULOUS parking spot to make it to the game only a half hour late.  Plus, the first half was not the Sounder's best, and we scored our two winning goals in the last 10 minutes of regular time.  Totes worth the stress to see that game. Plus it was Keller's final regular season home game and he was ridic.  He totes won it for us!  What are we gonna do without him next year?

Tech was long and really difficult.  We literally only got through one part, but it is definitely the most technically challenging section.  Now, to memorize all my new dialogue that I just got yesterday and hopefully tech the rest of the show today... Yesh.

The second day of rehearsal was good times too.  We officially started to work on specifics and I am going to be rocking "And I Will Always Love You" in the opening of the show!  w00t!  Super excited to white girl up some Whitney.

Then we headed over to the GreenStage closing party where we all just hungout and played some ping pong, drank and ate some good woodfire pizza.  Yum! Of course, now I have to admit that this summer is all over and I no longer get to run around as Ariel for the summer... Blearg.  At least I have a new show starting up!

But not before I have to knock out this 40-hour work week (here we go... at least only two are opening weekday shifts, so that's a win). I can do it! Plus, getting in to see the doctor on Fri (PIP follow up, then a massage next week?) and hopefully getting a haircut sometime this week too (seriously, it is SOOOO long)

OK, it was loverly sleeping in this morning and having a relaxing time getting up.  Now that I have nothing really to do today but get a massage, head to the dentist and go to rehearsal I am so happy.

I am also gonna head to Pharmaca on my way to the massage and grab the info on the diet thing my fairies and I are gonna do for the next few weeks (we're calling it the "I'm wearing a unitard all summer" diet) and then I am gonna have some fun fat-loading for the next two days!  Yummy fried foodz here I come! (Yes, it's part of the diet. Yes, I am a little weirded out by that.  No, I don't care.)

Since I got outta rehearsal early last night, I did some work on my lines and think I have a firmer grasp on a lot of what I am saying.  Still need to figure out who I am exactly, but at least I know now what I am saying and generally why I am saying it. The list of character questions grows...

I even got to nap for an hour and a half before I headed over there.  I actually think this opening, nap rehearse, repeat act might actually work out.

Another case of not pressing "post" from yesterday:

Just got back from the doctor where she told me I should be OK, but gave me a prescription for some pain meds and muscle relaxants to make sure that I don't tense up.  I'm about to go ahead and take some and nap (she warned me they will make me drowsy) so that I can then go ahead and get to the GreenStage meet-and-greet tonight!  Excited to meet my cast/crew!  Should be goodtimes.

Backyard BBQ

Today was the family meet-and-greet backyard pizza party and lemme tell you, that pizza was GOOOOOOD.  I brought home three different kinds and am really excited to eat more of it.  Hello next week's dinner!

Luckily, today was absolutely beautiful, so we were able to utilize the gorgeous backyard that D&P have spent so much time fixing up this last week.  Hopefully the weather gods will smile upon us again tomorrow and let the wedding be outside!  (*fingers crossed*)

It was really nice to see all of Dad's siblings.  I don't think I've seen most of them since Jessica's wedding  more than 5 years ago and definitely not in the same room. There was some good mingling going on today.

I am chilling OUT tonight.  Reheating pizza for dinner and hanging out with my boyfriends, Netflix and the fat one.  Tomorrow I head to Redmond bright and early to rehearse my song with the accompanists (cross your fingers I can find me note from a cello & violin!) and then family pictures and the wedding!

Mormon-Ville Day 1

Well, although our drive from SLC to Provo was snowy and surrounded by low clouds, the next day opened up bright, sunny and the mountains were out in full force!  It was absolutely beautiful.  The clouds had obscured how close they actually were, but on Thurs it was awesome.

Lindy went and did some looking at the actual school and talked with the head of the school and her mentor and then we worked out in the crappy little gym in the la quinta before we went shopping (I dressed up my little barbie, Lindy, and helped her spend some monies on great new clothes) and I kept myself from buying too much (a new swimsuit top from Target, a purse and glasses necklaces), which I was very proud of. And then Lindy noticed that with my new necklace and tee, it could do THIS:

We then went and caught a movie (Hanna, supes good and very different. Plus Saoirse Ronan is ridic good!) and ate at a great Italian restaurant in Orem (the little town next to Provo where Lin is probs gonna live if she goes there).

It held off all day and now as I took the garbage out I noticed that there are some flakes floating down, slowly, but consistently.  And if this damn weather keeps audiences from coming to see Threepenny, I am gonna scream!  It's not like we have that many performances and it's a good show, dammit!

Blearg.  Hopefully Jess & Aine will still brave the flakey flakes and come out to see it tonight (THEY BETTER!).  We start in about 2 hours and I do not want to have no one there.  For cereal.  Not OK, weather.  Not OK...

Spent today working monologues (yes, I do have 5 different Shakes books spread out around me on my bed, thankyouverymuch, I need them all) and feel like I actually have a good grip on what I am gonna use for my March 7th auditions... w00t!

Started out this morning not feeling so hot, even got to the point where I called my stage manager to say I was sick and probably couldn't make it to rehearsal and then about an hour before I was called, I felt better and made it all the way through the day just fine.  Literally, no idea what hit me, but it was not fun.

Today was a sort of sitzprobe, but we didn't have to add an orchestra, so it was really more of a music review...  Good though.  Nice to work on the overture and get a little bit of time reviewing songs before we get into tech insanity.

Century Sentry

Last night was loverly.  Hung up my new room decor and watched a movie with a kitteh on my lap totally bundled up under a blankie.  Glorious.

I'm starting to think this is going to be my last work time post since I start training the new girl tomorrow, so not only will I be supes busy, but I'll have someone looking over my shoulder, so probs no time to collage/write/post... blearg.  That's no fun.  I've spent the last day or so compiling a list of everything I do day-to-day and as requested and it is pretty substantial.  I'm gonna have a time of it training the new girl...

Yoga is on the queue for tonight and then some more hanging out at home.  It's kinda nice after being so crazy around the holidays to enjoy some relaxing days at home burning through my Netflix queue (and seasons of The Wire--already halfway through season 3!).  Plus, less than 2 weeks left of real work!

Counting Down

I think I might be done with my Xmas shopping!  (I think)  I am supes excited!  I totally power shopped this afternoon post-yoga and picked up a ridic amount of gifts.  And got almost all of it done before the rains came! Success! And seriously, it started coming down HARD.

Last night was loverly and relaxing and wunderbar!  And I managed to watch both A Prophet (fabulous.  Totally worth the wait.  SOOO glad I watched it and didn't just return without watching) and the penultimate disc of The Wire season 1.  GAH!  SOOOO good.  It took a few episodes but once I got into it.  Obsessed.  SO GOOD!  Cannot wait for the next disc to come (damn you Netflix and your slowness!)

I actually even had time to watch A Muppet Family Christmas (which just came in the mail--rareandforgotten FTW!) and wrap all those presents I just bought.  And now I am getting ready to head out to see The Best Christmas Present Ever and Jacob Marley's A Christmas Carol at SPT and then hangout with all my besties from past showzies!  Small world FTW!

Generally, an all around good day!
